Where cam I get a rebuild kit for the onan perfurmer engine 16xsl

it could be a stop solenoid hole or a simple oil filler hole that the plug has fallen out of
contact an onan service center and ask the service person what would be missing

did you try a touch of starter fluid in the carb just to verify that the engine is getting spark? ethanol gas... if it hasn't run in a few months and you left the gas in it... you better revisit the carb cleaning

Onan engine? If so, check your fuel pump. It will be located on the engine cowling. You'll see 2 fuel lines, one on top and one on bottom. These are the fuel in/out lines. The line you WON'T see is the vacuum pulse line that hooks to the rear of the pump assembly behind the cowling. This line operates the pump via a vacuum pulse created by the engine.
You can remove the pump mounting screws and the pump will pull away from the cowling a short distance exposing the vacuum pulse line. Make sure it's attached and not dry rotted. If the engine has set up for any extended period, there's a good chance the pump gaskets are "glued" to the pump chambers (internally) by bad gas and not allowing the vacuum to pump the fuel. Onan has (when I was working on them) kits for these fuel pumps and I've installed them successfully, but it might prove to be somewhat tedious if you're not well versed in kits of this sort or not extremely mechanically inclined. But if memory serves, a new pump was priced within reason. Good luck.

The unit may need recalibrating the idle/run setting. Instructions found in manual at 8-6 (subaru engine) and 9-5 (kohler). Idle speed around 2200rpm. Simple screw adjustment. PDF manual here :- http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o4434l_mil.pdf

Are you talking about the starter getting hot or the stator coil behind the flywheel?

Float level may be low or high. There may be dirt in the low speed circuit of carb. Ot may also be a defective needle and seat or even a sunken float. If you eun E10 or E20, you may have corrosion in the carb from sitting- Ethanol absorbs water from the atmosphere.

It may also be an issue of the fuel quality too. If the gas sat for any length of time, volatility is impoaired. Especially with oxygenated fuels.

Depending on machine model and sn you need to order the fuel gauge repair kit from a distributor. It will have all of the parts needed and instructions on the removal and installation of the new part. This is a commom problem that we are seeing with the Bobcat and Trailblazers. For servicing the engine itself, I can find the specs, but Onan is quite tight with their manuals and discontinue a great deal of them so parts would need to be aftermarket in many cases. You might find hardcopy on Ebay, but the basics of teardown and inspection are the same across most of the flat twins.
