Your drain pan is plugged up and allowing the water to rise above the edge of the pan and into the coach. The best way to repair this is to get on the roof and lay down next to the air conditioner. Look underneath the unit and you should see two white nipples sticking out the bottom about 1/3 of the way back from the front. These are the drain ports for the pan. Take a wire hanger or a long pick and work it into the hole of the nipple. The hole is kind of small and it would not hurt to open it up a bit. If you are unable to access the nipples in this manner, then the AC has to be removed and stood up so that the pan can be cleaned.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

P.S. The reason that it is only leaking during the day is because the evaporator creates more condensation in the hotter parts of the day than at night.

Efficiency of RV Rooftop Units Deteriorating???

If the overall effectiveness of you RV Rooftop AC seems to be much less than the day you bought, here is a simple procedure to keep it running cold and prolong the life of the unit.

Problems:
1. Air seems to not be blowing as cold as before
2. Compressor trips breaker during the hottest part of the day
3. Air at night works just fine but is lacking during the day

These problems can often be solved by simply cleaning out the condenser coil of the upper unit. You will need a phillips screwdriver and a water hose with a nozzle on it.

- Remove the upper shroud from the unit
- Gently spray water through the condenser coil watching from the fan side. BE CAREFUL, do not spray with too high of pressure nor sideways. Make sure you keep the nozzle spraying directly at the coils.
- Once the water begins to flow clearly through the condenser, you should be good to go. Make sure you get as much of the condenser clean as possible.

This will save the life of many RV Air Conditioners.

Is it common for a rv rooftop air conditioner to leak water on to the roof? I have a Dometic Duo-Therm unit 579,590,595 series.

All AC units create condensation from the cooling of air (cold/cool air hold less water than warm air), it is worse in areas of humid air like the Midwest for example.

My carrier ac roof top ducted unit started spitting out small amounts of water now and then, I changed filter. Now with ac in off position I am hearing a humming noise coming from the unit, what can this...

Don't really understand what you mean by roof top duct unit .if it's a roof top unit and water is leaking down your vent then you have a clogged drain line .

RV AC is working fine, but the water is leaking from the ceiling Where is the drain tube on the unit, The AC unit is a roof type, Duo Therm serial # 43404934, Part # 3105459

Normally, the condensate will drain out of the unit onto the roof and off the edge to the ground. Remove your cover inside (probably 2 screws) and tighten the 4 bolts you will find inside. If they are tight, go to your RV supply place and get new roof gasket. Remove the AC and insert the new gasket and resecure the AC to your roof.

Rv ac throws the breaker when outside temp gets high, unit works fine at night when outside temp cools down

Clean evap and cond coils
Place hand on a/c if too hot during the day but cool at night
then freon is being restricted in the condensor
Cleaning coils may help days
Put a trickle of water on the condensor during the day for a test.

Rv ac unit leaks, even when fan only

Where the pipes enter the building, look carefully there for a bad seal. Use a good quality sealant and block the leak properly. If there is no rain, and the unit is leaking still with the fan on only, then you have an issue with the drain pipe angle or a kinked pipe or a blockage. Suggest you have it seen to by a aircon. technician as that repair is really not easy.(AC will possibly have to come out to rectify problem).

Dometic air conditioner blowing cool air

When the cooling slows down, but water is still running off, usually something is icing up. You can turn the unit off, and let it thaw, and try again. Sometimes, if the humidity is high, this is more pronounced. It sounds like you are low on refrigerant. That implies that you have a slight leak. You should have the unit serviced, and the leak repaired.

Dometic ac with atwood 1h2c thermostat will not come back on

Just a guess, as I am not familiar with the solar assist, if the stat is wall mounted I would remove it and verify if there is wither standard batteries, or a "watch" style battery. hope this helps
