Perpixel rendering The full name of my graphics card is VIA S3G UniChrome Pro IPG. Does it support per ixel rendering? I use a sofrware called WindowBlinds which can change computer themes and make window borders translucent, colourful etc. But whenever I choose semi-transparent borders, I get a prompt that My hardware does not support per pixel rendering. Try to get driver updates. I got an update but this does not resolve my problem. My graphics card manufacturer tells me that it is the latest. I bought it only two months back. My driver version is : Please suggest me some ways to resolve this problem or provide a driver which supports perpixel rendering. The Video Memory is 64MB approx. The exact error message WindowBlind Gives is this: WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.0 (build 32 x86) WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins. This is because : Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha. WindowBlinds requires this for per pixel alphablended borders as without it performance would be poor. Please see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware. Recent ATI & NVIDIA boards should support this feature. Onboard graphics tend not to. It appears you have enabled limited per pixel mode, so WindowBlinds will support per pixel, but with no hardware support. (Samsung SAMTRON 45B(T)) 1 is attached to VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP Wblind.dll 2007/09/27 12:40:20 Wbsrv.dll 2007/09/23 10:10:43 Wbconfig.exe 2007/10/01 18:09:33 Wbload.exe 2007/09/27 16:42:44 Wbhelp.dll 2007/07/11 15:06:07 Wbui.dll 2007/09/22 13:13:06 Tray.dll 2007/09/12 18:52:21 Screen.exe 2007/09/30 15:18:24 If you can solve my problem, please send the solution to Thannking you, Debu,

Low frames per second while gaming

The FPS in your games is primarily controlled by your graphics card. The better the card the better the fps. To get the best possible fps in gaming you should be using a good quality card like the NVidia GTX 260 card or better or an ATI Radeon 4870 or better. If you have the money you might want to upgrade. If not try turning off all but your essential background processes & see if that helps. Good luck.

What driver to download???

Hi leovanhelden,

I've seen the S3 site, they are a little confusing when it comes to picking the correct driver. I'd go HERE which is really just a Via arena that you can pick the OS, and away you go.

Good Luck

Per-pixel rendering

the message is clear, the problem is clear, the solution is:
- upgrade your videocard to one that does support per pixel rendering,
- simply not to use that option,
- try to find another piece of software that has the same functionality but doesnot require per pixel rendering,
- get in touch again with the card manufacturer and see if per pixel rendering is indeed not available,
- if possible, buy another graphics card that has the option and put them in SLI (if supported) which will improve your graphics for other software as well.

Perpixel rendering related problem

The IGP in VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP stands for Integrated Graphics Processor. The WindowBlinds error message indicates that onboard graphics tend not to support per pixel acceleration. There's your answer: your graphics cards do not support this kind of advanced processing; unfortunately a driver update isn't going to solve the problem, as it's hardware-related. You will need to upgrade to a more powerful card if you want to use the translucent borders.
