Re: webcam

Aiptek's support says this model doesn't support webcam mode.  They have no future plans to support webcam mode in any of their HD models.  Call them at 949-585-9600 to complain.  This should be super trivial to implement.

Re: webcam

For the first user, The screen will cut off on the camera when you plug it into your computer. That is the way it's supposed to work. Make sure your camera is set to webcam. That will be under video resolution in your tools and settings screen. Looking at your camera, it will (or should) be the bottom left button. The camera won't work properly on your computer in Hi Def and that's probably why Yahoo won't recognize it. The resolution is just way too much for it to handle. Hope this helps some.

For the second one, did you install your driver software? Good, had to ask, don't cuss me! (HaHa) Okay, plug in your camera, open the little viewscreen on your camera (this MUST be open or you'll only charge your camera, go to my computer, then to whichever drive your camera is hooked to. It's removable media "L" on my computer, but yours may be different. Click (or double click) on that. You should see an icon that says DCIM, double click. Click on 100 media. Your files should come up. Hope this helps.

Try reformatting the media, if using an SD card, replace it with another and use a PC and format it FAT16 with a PC and USB dongle return it to the unit it should be OK, you may have to format again after you put it in sometimes too.

We cannot find our user manual can we get another one? The number on our camera is 720P HD. The brand is AIPTEK.

There's at least four models that match your description. You'll find manuals for those (and more) at

The camera is burnt and now its all screwed up.

To put it bluntly, throw it away. Applying the wrong power to equipment can cause too much damage for reliable repair. Even if all the bad parts could be found and replaced, other parts will have been stressed and may fail later. Also it's very likely the circuit board has been damaged as well. Replace the unit, and be very careful to use only the proper adapter in the future.

Screen frozen white

Try turning it off with the power button on the screen, then closing it, then plugging it in... (?) That's what I would do if you havent already.
