While on the RED light. Press and hold the "SYNC" button (don't let go if it during any of the stages). Now press and release the "EJECT button. Note the amount of flashing lights. Do this three more times (still holding the sync button) each time noting the amount of lights that flash. This will give you a total of 4 numbers. Turn console of, hold sync button down wich is the small white button next memory card slots, while holding turn on console and wait till it boots. If this does not work go to system blade, select memory, press y on the HD symbol, press xx left bumper right bumper xx, select yes. This will restart your console from scratch though all profiles and saved data will be lost, but it will clear any corupt data.

no red lights, no previous error msgs, and video output on the box has just died. playing halo yesterday and mid-game the colours went askew (like a green overlay) with horizontal banding, backing out to the dash solved nothing so after a reboot there was simply no video. troubleshooted the tv and cables and its definately the box.

turn it on and wrap it with 2 towels for 20 minutes(the idea is to overheat it), then unrap the towels and let it cool down for 20 minutes. Then, walla it works.

OK, this is a power supply issue here. you will need to replace the power supply board asap/ it is malfunctioning.

2 red lights is overheating you can try and leave the console alone and see if that cools it down, sometimes this will work.If it does not you will need to get it fixed and to do this you should use a good Xbox 360 Repair guide or send it in.
