this is totally weird that so many of us have the same problem. (i.e., me too!) So has anyone called Palm and asked them whaz up?

I have the same problem. Apparently my wife accidentally spilled some coke over the phone and the keyboard was all sticky, other than that it was working fine. I decided to open the phone to clean the keyboard and when I re assembled it the phone was working fine but the screen backlight was not working. The keyboard backlight is working fine but not the screen backlight. I have hard reset and sync the device many time since but with no luck. If you have any suggestions pls let me know

I had left my phone at a friend's place and when it was returned the screen light was gone. whenever i try and press the reb button, the light just blinks for a fraction of a second. It has got nothing to do with adjusting the brightnes. May be somethings gone wrong with the settings

Blank screen, no signal to monitor, no HD light, no mouse light, no keyboard lights, no beep.

maybe it could be a frayed/broken wire leading to the visual/sound parts. if not then bring it to tech support and have them look at it

No power timer light keeps blinking did the reset also unplugged stil no power light keeps blinking plz help thx

Only two possible reasons for this.

The green blinking light is the DM unit in the set trying to boot up and failing. There are several caps in the DM unit that puff up and can cause this problem (1000 mfd at 16 volts).

There is something else you should try first, it takes less than ten minutes and requires only a screwdriver.

Pull the front speaker grill off--it is held in with plastic pegs.

Remove the inspection plate dead center behind it--several philips screws.

Locate the two sets of wires coming from the keyboard on the front of the set and follow them down and to the right--you will find two plugs that can be disconnected-----the idea is to take the front keyboard out of the circuit.

With the keyboard unplugged you can still attempt to turn the set on with the remote--the receiver is located behind the screen.

If set now works you have two choices--operate it with the keyboard disabled or remove the entire screen assembly to get at the front keyboard---you can unsolder the reset button and remove or replace it. This is so common I carry replacement reset switches when I do service calls===it is a tiny switch.

If the set still does not function the DM unit (it is a large metal box located on the left side as you look from the back) is defective.

It is no longer available from Mitsubishi but can be removed and sent out to someone like PTS Electronics for repair--you can email them in this situation and get a quote for this.

If taking the reset/keyboard out allows the set to work I would use it that way.

If this information told you something you did not know rate this solution as "very helpful" as I do this here for free.

Let me know if you have questions.

Rapid flashing green light but no power. I've reset - no effect, unplugged set for a couple hours and several days - nothing. Continual rapid flashing green light when plugged in. Also, when I plug the set...

1.) Most of these sets have a receiver built into the back(large metal box on left side as you look from the back.)

2.) Two possible reasons for green light constantly blinking(it is the receiver booting up if the set is disconnected from power---light should blink for about 70 seconds and go out).

3.) First reason: The recessed micro switch on the keyboard marked reset may be bad--does not happen a lot but it does happen. Easy way to see if this is the problem is to remove front speaker grill---and inspection plate behind it---from the keyboard you should see one or two groups of wires(they come from the keyboard) follow them to the right and unplug both(they are different and marked with letters). This takes the keyboard out of the circuit---you should still be able to turn the set on with your remote(remote receiver is behind the screen.) IF SET NOW WORKS YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES--USE IT ONLY WITH THE REMOTE OR HAVE SOMEONE REMOVE THE FRONT KEYBOARD AND UNSOLDER THE RESET SWITCH--the switch can be replaced without replacing the keyboard(it is a small circuit board with all the micro switches on it.)

4.) If disconnecting the keyboard does not fix the trouble---you have a problem in the "Receiver"----it happens on these sets and usually is repairable--Mitsubishi no longer sells this part and it was very expensive when they did---if disconnecting the keyboard does not cure the problem---let me know and I can give you options for getting the receiver repaired.

5.) Let me know if you have questions and if you need more advice reply to this post here.

I do this here for free so if this information helps you take a minute to give me a vote here---I am here to help people.

Black screen on startup

I have had this same problem with a HP DV2000 and the problem is not the contrast light. What it is, is that the laptop thinks that the screen is been shut down that is why the light does not come on. The best way to solve this is to remove your keyboard first.

You can remove the keyboard by removing exactly 7 screws from your laptop back, there are 5 screws located under your battery and other two that are in the location of your RAM'S.

Just open them up and then you will notice that the key board pops out abit then just simply take it up and then just below the keyboard, on the same line where HP brand logo is on your machine there are two small clip types of pind, that you can remove and put back.
There is a clip that is hidden abit under the metal plate, so just try and remove that clip from its place using a needle or any long and thin object.

That will make the laptop not have the problem. But once you remove that the laptop constantly will think that the screen is open even if you close it. then after like a week or two you can put it back and all shall be fine if not then just remove it and keep it out.

You can then set your power options to shut down the screen light every 2 minutes or something like that so as to avoid the backlight being switched on all the time.

Hope this solves your problem.

Microsoft wireless keyboard 6000 v 2.0 often stops working. No idea what the lights on the little wireless hub means as no instructions. Help files do not mention anything either. I have erases=d drivers...

Are your batteries in the Keyboard and mouse good?

On the receiver there is three lights. The "A" is the CAP LOCK light, The "1" is the RECEIVER light and the "F" is the F LOCK light.

You probably have gotten it working by now but here is a way to get it work if not.

Press the Receiver button a(and the lights will start flashing, then if its the Keyboard that isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect.

If its the MOUSE do the same except push the small RESET?CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect. Then they should work properly. Hope this helps. Bud
