D Link DIR 635 router conection internet

I had use the router previously to connect via Broadband with a modem connected to the router. We moved and now I can only use Bigpond Next G USB wireless card to connct to internet. I tried to set up my router using it as a connection between my Wireless printer and Dlink Media streamer. I can not set up the router as it wants to connect to the internet and does not allow me to set up the router again as it cannot obtain a connection to the internet. I do not want to connect the router to the internet, therefore I use the NEXTG USB card. How can I stream my music and videos to the media streamer and print wireless not allowing this router to connect to the internet.

My previous network I can not access or does not want tgo connect either. I used the options in the Software (Network magic) to solve connection problems but the software cannot fix the problem automaticaly.

Re: D Link DIR 635 router conection internet

Normally, all ruters are hubs as well. if you want to connect it as a hub only; try connecting only the ports minus the WAN port that goes to the DSL modem. In this case the router will behave just like a hub.

I purchased a D-Link Wireless N 150 Router, Dir 600L. I am unable to setup the same. Do I need a Modem also to setup this router or I can setup without a modem?

You can setup a wireless network without a modem. It will allow you to share printers, files ect. The modem is required for an internet connection only. The modem basically translates the Ethernet traffic in to a signal that can be carried over your respective service, DSL over a POTS line or broadband over a coax cable. The word modem stands for MOdularDEModular note the word MODEM in there.

access your router using username/passwd if not altered should be admin/admin u can set your ip (static ip) and i do not see why you can not assign an ip for your cam, my guess is you want to veiw you the camera feedback across the Internet. there various ways of doing this just remember that your cam is connected to your local network not to the Internet. good luck

Router will not transmit through hn9000 modem ?

There are things you need to consider when installing a broadband router:

1.) Your Internet Service Provider
2.) What type of connection are you using; DHCP or PPPoE
3.) Does your PC able to get online when connected directly to the modem

Your D-Link modem has a GUI (graphical user interface) that allows you to configure it so it will work with your broadband modem.

Hi i hav purchased a Dlink dir 300 router. is this router capable of letting multiple pcs n cell phones connect to it for internet wirelessly with out the need of keeping 1 pc switched on all the time? i...

Yes if you consult the manual that came with the router it will show you how to connect the modem to it and setup the DSL (PPPOE)settings. Some Modems though already have the PPPOE settings within the unit and then the router would just need to be set to automatic. You will need to configure from the PC but afterwards you can shut down all your PC's on the network at anytime.

DIR-300 router and broadband ISP connection,is NAT possible?

With a cable broadband connection, the cable line comes into the cable modem. The cable modem does the work changing the cable signal to a network connection and sends an I.P. address to the computer. With some cable internet providers you can hook the network cable into the in port on a router, wireless or wired, then hook up computers to the router. At this point the router gets the IP from cable and uses it's own IP routing for your internal network. Some broadband providers control your access by the computers mac address which registers with the vendor. If this is the case then the easy way to make it work is to get a router which can clone a mac address so the vendor still sees the same mac address.

DIR-635 can't access the internet

I think you have wrong configuration of your router.

1. Some xDSL Internet Service Providers may assign a Fixed IP Address for your Broadband router. If you have been provided with this information, choose this option and enter the assigned IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway IP Address and DNS IP Address for your Broadband router.
2. If you connect to the Internet using an xDSL Modem and your ISP has provided you with a Password and a Service Name, then your ISP uses PPPoE to establish a connection. You must choose this option and enter the required information.

D-link DIR-635 router

Hi, I am assuming that you can connect to your router's web based interface ( On a PC LAN wired to the router, open a browser; Type ""; Log-in username/admin and password/(blank); Go to Tools > Misc and the option to select the WAN speed (bottom); Lock the speed down on the WAN port of your router to 10Mbps (Some versions do not have this feature). Hope this works for you. If not pls post back with your modem brand/model. You may also want to log the IP settings (IP Add, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS Servers) of the PC that is directly connected to the modem when you can access the Internet when not using the router. Good luck and kind regards.
