Question about Emerson EWF2703 27" TV

1 Answer

Which brand of universal remote control works for WEF2702 27" TV?

My original remote seems to be not working (no red flash with new battery).
Bought one Universal remote control (Philips), tried all the Emerson code, but none worked.

So, I need suggestions about which brand of universal remote control works for WEF2702 27" TV? or do I have to call 1-800-256-2487 to order another?

Which brand of universal remote control works for WEF2702 27" TV?

  • Anonymous Dec 30, 2007

What brand of universal remote control will work for my Emerson TV/VCR combination?

The original remote quit working and still doesn't work with new batteries.

I purchased an RCA brand universal remote and according to RCA website, this brand does not support the Emerson TV/VCR.

    Thanks for your help.

Correct code for universal remote will not turn off tv. On the 50" digital led model ELEFT502. Original remote always had a weak signal worked only when pointed a foot away from infared reciever. Then quit...

No universal remote control will work with any TVs as well as the original ones. If the original remote control do not get range, there are two reasons for it; and can be repaired to.
1. Battery weak [Replace with new batteries]
2. The infra-red light emitting diode at the front of the remote control is weak.[Can be replaced with a new one. It can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shops]
Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. My remote stopped working so I bought another LG remote but it still does not work. Works fine with buttons on tv

If the remote control you bought newly is the original one; it should work without any problem. If it is a universal remote control, you should set it up with the set-up code to LG.
In case it is original number:
Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. In case it is a universal remote control:
Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

You here reports that even the new remote too does nor responds. Which remote did you bought? An original one or a universal remote? If it is an original one, and even your set do not respond it, the infra-red sensor inside the TV is faulty. Replace it. Contact any service technician. If it is a universal remote control; you have to set it up with the set-up codes said to Philips brand TV [The setup code list will accompany with package of each universal remote control], to work with it.

Universal remote has lost it programming and wil not operate tv. I need codes and to know how to enter them into the remote. The tv is a SylvaniaModel 6424TF Please respond. Thanks you Pauline

Hi, I have a few things for you to try.
1. Your TV "6424TF" seems to have problems with its IR "Infra-red" sensor going bad. This is a common problem with your model TV. If this is the case no remotes will work on your TV.
2. Because I do not know the model of your universal RCA remote I cannot tell you how to program it.. please supply the model number of it. Try looking under the battery cover. might be an "RCR..." number. I need to know this because all universal remotes have different codes and programming methods.
3. To know 100% if its your TV that's bad you will need the original remote for your TV. I have already looked up your original remote and you can purchase a brand new replacement that will work right out of the package (assuming your TV IR sensor isn't broke) here: RR0108UD for all sylvania TVs . no programming is necessary for this remote.

No usable code for CineVision DVD player with RCR461.. HELP!

A learning remote lets you program it with the original remote. I did it today with a Phillips brand remote I bought at Wal-mart. I have an cheap Memorex TV and when I pressed the volume down button on my Comcast remote, the TV setup menu appeared. I had to "teach" the new Phillips universal remote by pointing it at the original remote that came with my TV and pressing cooresponding buttons on both units. It was a bit of work, but it worked.

I guess this is useless unless you have the remote that came with the unit and don't mind switching to a new remote that has learning capabilities.

Remote control

I had the same problem.  The problem is strange and seems to be with the receiver in the TV and not the remote control.  The reason I say this is that when this first happened my Samsung brand DVD could actually control the TV.  This then also failed, but still works fine with the DVD player.
Anyway there is an even more bizarre fix to all this......
- Remove the batteries from your TV remote. - Press and hold the red (ON/OFF) button for at least 1 min. - Replace the batteries and hey presto!!
I know seems far fetched but I found it on the Samsung website and it does work.

Rca universal remote not working

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or yourbrand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, trythe following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when youreach the end of all the codes for this device type.
  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

2. Learn the buttons from the original

Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing thefollowing steps.
  1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice.
  2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice.
  3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. The next 3 steps must be completed within 10 seconds.
  4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash rapidly.
  5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.

Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keysor press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock inyour new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat stepsthrough 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the newfeature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned
