Usually there is an access cover just above the microwave cavity, right behind the grill vent.

Manufacturers used to include access panels in the rear or side so you could easily change the bulb. That exposed the customer to 110V connectors, and that posed a real liability threat, so they stopped using them.

You now must generally remove the outer cover to replace the bulb.

In many over-the-range models, that can mean having to take the oven down from the wall! For safety's sake, that should be a two-person job.

It's really helpful if you have your original installation instructions to do this.

Many models use one halogen lamp to illuminate the cooktop and another to illuminate the cavity. You must not touch them with your bare skin as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic microwave

Safety first, unplug your microwave from socket outlet.Needs to troubleshoots series of components using eliminating method to know which component(s) that causes breaker to trip off. It is obvious that a componet(s) "shorted out".Remove your fuse and replace it with resetable breaker tested.
Remove leads of the transformer output(secondary side). plug power cord run the microwave. If does not trip off the cct breaker change your transformer. do the same to capacitor lead, one after the other until you discover which component that shorted and cause your cct breaker to trip off.

Check to make sure one of the plastic hooks on the door was not broken off. If both door hook latches are functional then the most likely cause of your problem is one of the latch switches located behind the control panel. These switches will fail if the oven user opens the door frequently BEFORE the cook cycle ends. Always push STOP/RESET before opening any microwave oven door.

Changing the light bulb

Hi,

# 1 Unplug the microwave from its electrical outlet. Never service an electrical appliance while it's plugged in.
# 2 Remove the screws that hold the outer shell onto the microwave chassis. Often the screws are on the bottom or back of the microwave. Use a Phillips screwdriver or Torx driver to remove the screws.
# 3 Lift the outer shell off the microwave chassis and locate the box that houses the halogen lightbulb. In most cases, the box is metal. It may or may not have a lid on it. If it has a lid, loosen the tabs and pull off the lid.
# 4 Unscrew the halogen bulb and replace it with a bulb rated at the exact same wattage.
# 5 Place the cover back onto the box if necessary and place the shell over the microwave chassis.
# 6 Secure the shell to the chassis with the original screws and the screwdriver or torx driver.

Regards.

The Light needs to be replaced in panasonic microwave NN-S696BA. Where is the light located?

If it is "user replaceable", your owner's manual will cover that.

If for some reason you don't still have yours, you can download it here.

If it's not mentioned in the manual, then you will have to do some disassembly to get to it. (It's not mentioned).

Since that's a counter top model, you'll have to remove the outer cover.

See these help files.

Then you can take your old bulb to an appliance parts store, big box store like Wal-Mart, or a home improvement store like Lowe's or Home Depot to match it up.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch halogen types with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Replacement light bulb for Panasonic NN-9853 Microwave

Hello, I also have a Panasonic Microwave ( model NN-S 564 or 574 ?) They are very similar.
I have just removed the outer cover 5 screws ( unplug of course ) and have located the bulb holder which is a white plastic component with two clips holding the globe, pull it out and remove the two spade clips connected to the globe. The globe will come away attached to a black plastic mount. Next........do the run around to find someone who sells it.
Perth has an authorized distributer/repairer in Myaree whose details I got from Panasonic. He may sell them. otherwise I will try a couple of specialist light globe suppliers I know....PROLAMPS in Belmont and one in BALCATTA whose name escapes me but I have been there before...Hope this helps others.

Light out in Panasonic NN-S573.

If the inside of the unit does not have an access plate visible, you will have to unplug the unit, remove the 5 or so screws in the back along the edge, then lift the edge and pull the housing off of the unit.
You won't likely have one of these bulbs at home, they vary and are of the compact varity such as those used in sewing machines or at least a smaller globe than normal lighting bulbs.

I have panasonic counter top microwave model # NN-S569BA How do I change the light bulb in it

The exploded view diagram shows the bulb to be under the outer cover.

Manufacturers used to include access panels in the rear or side so you could easily change the bulb. That exposed the customer to 110V connectors, and that posed a real liability threat, so they stopped using them.

You now must generally remove the outer cover to replace the bulb. That's true in this model.
