Can't recover network adapters

I upgraded my hard drive for Gateway MX6629 notebook and ran the recovery disc for windows XP home that they gave me with the computer 4 years ago. I can't access the internet through my wireless network anymore. I think the network adapters and drivers did not reinstall from the disc. I tried reinstalling two of the downloads available on the Gateway site but I still don't see any wireless network icon in the taskbar tray. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated
