Dirt Devil overheating Belt Okay

I pulled apart the vacuum, the belt seems fine and so does the brush, but this little metal piece that the belt wraps around seems to be getting supper hot. The brush wont spin?? Help

the belt is probably worn , so when the spool turns it heats up and looses friction with the belt.
