Question about Husqvarna Rose

Buying a used Husqvarna Rose or what other recommendation?

I am looking for someone who can give me a comparison of the Viking Rose and the Viking 1 + machine. I will buy one used when I am confident that I am buying the right machine. Can you direct me to a place where I can find out the differences or similarities with these machines?

Thank you,

Yes, unfortunately the technology will eventually be outdated on the Designer series as well and we will not be able toupdate the software eventually. Such a shame considering the money we pay for these machines!

Re: buying a used Husqvarna Rose or what other...

I owned a Rose sewing machine and I recently upgraded to a Designer 1. I absolutely love this machine!! It's very easy to learn the new features and other features are just like the rose model. It's a great investment and its the best!! The embroidery area is much larger than the rose has, and it sews 800 stitches a minute. OK, I could go on and on. I have one regret, I traded my rose in for the designer 1 and wish I would have kept it. I could of had two embroidery machines running at the same time!!

The Designer 1 technology is far more superior to the Rose. The Rose technology is so far behind that you can not update the software any more. The Designer 1 comes now with a USB stick, and you can download unlimited designs from the internet and transfer to your machine.

The Rose is a very good machine but you will be limited in the use of the machine.

If you can afford it buy the Designer 1

Husqvarna ROSE: started going slow after rewinding the bobbin. Now I can hardly move the handwheel, let alone sew anything. It feels as if it has siezed, but when my husband took the 'collar' off,...

Check the bobbin area to make sure the needle is not catching on something with the bobbin unit. Take the bobbin case out and see if it runs. It may be the belt but that's inside. Usually if the belt is off, the handwheel will turn easily but the needle will not go up and down. Suggest service by local authorized husqvarna viking dealer. You can find the nearest dealer from the husqvarna viking website and click on "Dealers" link.

My wife has an older Rose that worked with windows 95 OR 98. the machines program won't run on the newer operating systems. our PC'S are

Yeah that's one of the drawbacks to technological advancement. At the time the Rose was developed, no one envisioned what the PC world would become. The Husqvarna Viking has some interesting information about software updates and work arounds you might want to check out - Also you might want to visit an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer for suggestions. There are still many customers still using the Rose model today.

Good luck.

My embroidery unit on the Rose squeaks loudly when in use. Can I oil it? Does it need servicing?

Typically does not need oiling but if you do, use Tri-Flow oil available from most bicycle shops. But it would highly recommend you take it for service at an authorized Husqvarna Viking service technician. You can locate a dealer near you by visiting the husqvarna viking website and clicking on the Dealer link on the left-hand side of the page -

Good luck.

Machine stopped running, its getting power but wont run.

I would take it back to your service tech or choose another. It may be something simple that needs replacement, like a new cord. (or . . .)

Also, before thinking of buying a new machine, I would get another opinion.

Will a Husqvarna #1 Plus embroidery unit work on a Husqvarna Rose machine?

I am sorry to inform you that Husqvarna # 1 embroidery unit does not fit onto the Rose machine. The terminals on the Rose is upright, while on the H # 1 it is flat. If you want to do embroidery on the Rose, you will have to purchase the embroidery unit.

Sad but true
