No Channels I can't play my VCR/DVD player since the TV has "no channels" available. I scan for new channels and there isn't a signal to retrieve.

Re: No Channels

I'm having the Same Problem. This did not work for me. The TV comes up as if it is trying to start fresh and whether I select Home or Showroom Mode it gives me the list of inputs as if I were in the Show room mode. I asked the local electronics store and was given the Two arms up W? look.

Re: No Channels

Hook you VCR/DVD up with A/V cable. The Red. White. and yellow cables. When you do that you use the Television remote and click the TV/Video button to select the input you wired the A/v cable to from the VCR/DVD.. Then Program your VCR/DVD channels. This should work great.

Hi I have a l32wd12 r a TV and it will not turn on

If the clock is on then the unit is receiving power; maybe the external input feature (which tells the TV which outside source to display on the screen, e.g. cable TV, DVD player, VCR player, etc.) is not set to display the TV channels. On my Sony TV there is a button that displays TV setting options (e.g., Favorites, TV List, External inputs and settings). The external inputs function displays the options as video 1, video 2, etc., right up to video 6. My video 3 is for the VCR, video 4 is for the DVD, and video 5 is for the cable TV channels. If the TV is set for say video 3 and nothing is playing on the VCR, the screen will be dark (almost as though the TV is off). Your solution might be as simple as choosing the right external (video) input for the TV to receive the channel signals.

My Haier tv says "No Signal" & won't show my channel I did auto scan & it's still blue with a grey box saying "No Signal"

To eliminate if it's the cable problem or not, see if you're able to get a picture and audio on another input by connecting a dvd player as an example. If you're able to receive a picture and audio tehn you know that input works. If you can then try connecting a antenna to the tunner, assumming that you had cable connected prior, and scan the channels again but instead of selecting cable select air then channel scan. If you still are not able to receive channels, then you have a bad tuner. You will need to have the main assembly board AKA scaler board replaced. You could however by-pass the tuner by using a VCR and connect your cable to the tuner on the VCR then use Composite wires from the VCR to the TV composite input and change the chanels from the VCR.

I have a General Electric tv that someone gave me. I hooked up my dvd player and programmed it play on channel 3. I says no signal when I try to play a dvd on channel 3

There may be a chance you have hooked it up to play on AV3, as opposed to CH3. There should be an AV button on your remote or the TV. Press it a few times and see the channel flicks through the AV channels. They are usually AV1, AV2, AV25, AV3, AV35. Look for AV3, or for your signal on any of the other AV channels.

I need code to activate my tv and channels

You probably need to SCAN the channels.
Connect the signal source to the tv. Either cable or Antenna.
Enter the menu mode on the tv. You can do through the remote.
Scroll down to the signal source. Select the signal source you have connected to the back of set.
Scroll to SCAN in the menu.
SCAN in the channels.
Exit menu mode.
You can now watch available channels.

How to scan channels

The TV user guide should provide the procedures of acquiring auto scan. For example, your TV may be acquiring functionality from satellites dishs or cable receiver devices. Performing an auto scan achievable with the remote control device with adjustment to settings on the channel buttons would produce a signal only with available transmitter stations. Performing a channel auto scan would display no signals without available receiver devices often acquired with susbscription from a provder either cable TV, sattelite or disk network, show on demand for example. However, performing an auto scan on a new Tv should simply display a count list of possible available channels on which signals could be display when any is provided. Good luck

I need instructions to record from vhs video player to dvd recorder

Connect the vcr to the dvd recorder via scart. Set TV to your usual dvd channel and power on dvd. Power on vcr and scroll through input channels (AV etc) on dvd recorder until you find the signal from vcr. Prepare the recorder ready to record, then play the vcr and start the dvd to record.

Tv has only snowy screen. Used the remote to

What to do if you have an all snowy picture (blue screen or the TV displays unusable signal-no signal or no sync)
1 – If you are using a digital cable box or satellite receiver (make sure it’s on) and be sure your TV is set for either CH3 or CH4 (which ever you usually view it on). If you usually view it through video inputs (video1 or 2 etc.) make sure the appropriate input is selected.
If you still don’t get a signal see if you get picture using the DVD or VCR (if available) if you do than plug the satellite or Dig. Box temporarily into the place of the DVD (unplug DVD) you may have to use some A/V cables (RCA yel./red/wht like the ones on the DVD) to hook to the tv from the sat./dig. box. If you get a signal then the sat./dig box is ok. If not the Sat./dig box is not sending a signal and is either defective or needs to be rebooted (unplug wait 5 min try again).
2 – If you are using standard cable or antenna (source) if possible check that the source is good by connecting to another TV. Otherwise try running the source into a VCR and then out to the TV using video inputs (RCA yel./red/wht like the ones on the DVD) and then selecting the appropriate input. Try seeing if the VCR plays using standard CH3 (or CH4)
If the VCR plays on video input but not when connected to CH3 (CH4) then the tuner of the TV may be defective – see if you can use the VCR to change channel using the VCR remote.
Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!
