I have removed battery, moved jumper pins from 1and 2 to 2and 3 and back again to on and 2 . I have also run computer without battery for 20 seconds with no luck.
Generally, one enters the BIOS Setup screen by pressing either F2 or Del. There is usually a message on the bottom of the first boot screen that indicates what button is correct for that model.
Looking further into the details that you have given, it seems that your CMOS battery has died, so you will need to replace that. (This is what is causing the "Time of Day Not Set" message most likely.) You can get the appropriate battery at Radio Shack (if nowhere else) for about $5 or $6.
I will definitely purchase a new battery it is worth $5 or $6 to try to fix the problem. Thank you
Glad to be of assistance. Feel free to let me know if I can assist you further.
how do you reset time and date after replacing the battery
You can do so either through BIOS or by setting it within Windows. Both will have the same effect. If you are not familiar with configuring the BIOS, then taking care of it in Windows would be the way to go.

SOURCE: when i turn on my computer all it says
just unplug the diskette from the motherboard and it all will go away
SOURCE: I have a Dell Intel Pentium 4 Processor: 3.00 GHz
Go and press F2 then find Load Default or something similar as each BIOS is different.
If it then loads, change the cmos battery.
SOURCE: What's your problem?a way to turn the SATA ports to ON in the BIOS
You can go into the bios and on those drives that are not found you can turn them OFF or N/A. They are probably set to AUTO or ON.
If that does not work I would say remove the power cord, remove the cover, then remove the main power to the motherboard then plug the main power to the motherboard back it. The main power will run from the power supply and the end of it will be about a 2 inch strip that plugs into the board. Press and hold the little catch on it then pull it out of the socket on the board. Put it back in firmly. Reboot and see what happens.

CMOS is an on-board semiconductor chip powered by a CMOS battery inside computers that stores information such as the system time and date and the system hardware settings for your computer..
If your computer won't boot without a password or you need a password to enter the computer set-up or change the settings, then you have a BIOS password set. BIOS is an acronym for basic input/output system.
The BIOS is the basic instruction set that teaches the computer how to access disk drives, keyboard, display etc. The BIOS is typically placed on a ROM chip in the computer hence the term ROM BIOS.
The ROM BIOS allows the computer to boot itself. The BIOS is required to boot the computer. Thus, if the BIOS is password protected, the computer will not boot (or you will not be able to enter or change the BIOS settings.)
