Question about Samsung RS2630SH Side by Side Refrigerator

Warm to Hot molding that seals the doors

The area around the rubber molding that seals the freezer and regular door, seems hot too touch. We've had the refrigerator for 2 years and have never noticed this. Is it normal? Last week I heard the squeaky, rattly noise when the fan came on and I sprayed it with WD 40. No more noise but wondered if hot molding was related to the fan or compressor.

    Thank you fridgetech!
We just checked the fan and it had stopped but with a push it is going again and the molding is cooling off. We put another small fan blowing on it for the night and tomorrow we'll check about a technician in this area. The coils don't look that dirty but maybe in the daylight we can see more. Guessing that we will have to replace fan and don't know if we can do that ourselves. We live in small midwest town - hope someone around here knows fridges like you!

Fan is still stopping occasionally but we discovered that putting a regular fan in front of the coils is working great. Molding is not
hot anymore (maybe slightly warm) and is buying us time until the Samsung repairman can get here in 2 days (earliest appt available) Thanks for having this website. Awesome information.

I have the same problem where the rubber molding is hot and also where the door shuts is hot to touch. We checked the coils, which were dirty and we cleaned them and that worked. Very quickly the areas were cool to touch, but 2 days later it back to the same thing. Our product is the Whirlpool side by side stainless steel. I have also put a fan back behind the refrig for now but do you have any other ideas??? Please help.

Either the fan motor has gone bad or the coils under the fridge are too dirty. Both will cause a no cool situation and cause this area to become too hot. Part of the coil runs thru the cabinet in this area to prevent sweating. This is a good indication of dirty coils or a bad/weak fan motor. If your fan was noisy I would replace it before it goes out completely. This excessive heat will lead to premature compressor failure.

If the fan stopped I wouldn't trust it. It should be replaced to be on the safe side. Would appreciate a solved rating for the advice.

Seals on my beco are hot to touch fridge freezer feel warm

Almost the same post as my last. This is normal unless the refrigerator is not cooling properly. There is a pipe that goes around the door that carries hot Freon to keep the doors from sweating where the cold inside meets the warm air outside. This area will become extremely hot should the airflow below the refrigerator become obstructed or the condenser fan below the refrigerator not be working properly

Old whirlpool freezer door left slightly ajar.light on inside.door won't seal. Rubber on door warm.

The condenser coils do get hot. They can even be to hot to comfortably touch and this is normal.

The refrigerator should not run constantly but shut off with each defrost cycle.

Running constantly and never cycling off can indicate a cooling problem.

One thing to try is to wait till it has been running a few minutes then open the door and turn your cycling thermostat towards the off position. It should cycle off before getting to the off position on the dial.

If it does not cycle off then it's not getting cold enough to satisfy the thermostat. This is likely the reason the refrigerator runs all the time.

A thermometer in a glass of water can be used to check the temperatures in the refrigerator section.

You can check that all fans are running.

the reason the outer side of the door seal area is getting hot is the compressor is over heating, probably the condenser fan motor to your compressor is bad.
It should be a little warm but not hot. they don't use heaters anymore ( some older models still use heaters) around the doors, instead they use the condenser coils to remove condensation and moister, you might want to check your condenser coils on the bottom or back of fridge to see if they need cleaning
If the condenser coils/condenser fan are all plugged up they need cleaning and/or the condenser may fail or has failed..

The ones that use an electric heater will have an "energy saver" switch that will turn it off.: God is the reason I give you free advice so God is good!

The doors are scorching hot to touch on my Maytag 2454. It's always been warm to touch, but all of a sudden it is too hot to even touch. It is in the center part of both doors, along the door seal area and...

It's usually caused by the condenser fan which is underneath around back. If it's not running when the compressor runs it will cause the problem you describe. You will need to remove the cardboard backing on the back of the fridge to access the fan.

The refrigerator and freezer rubber door seals are too hot to touch.

Pull fridge out and clean the grill on the back , its a hot pipe running around the door for condensation , if the grill on the back is clogged with dust it will get very hot , see how that goes enjoy

If the mullion heater around the doors is hot to the touch the inside temperatures are not being maintained. They should be warm but not hot. This usually indicates a problem in the internal temperatures. Check the back wall of the freezer section for frost buildup. Your defrost system may not be working and it had not gotten to the point of complete failure as far as you noticing the temperature differences yet.
