Monitor goes black 1 second after coming to full screen

My FPD1530 monitor power light is on but screen has gone black. If I turn the power button off and on again, the screen comes on for 1 second and then goes black again even thought the green power light stays lit. Help?

    I just started having the same problem today -- after turning my FPD on, it comes on for about a second then goes black. The power light stays on, and if you look at the screen really closely in good light you can see the information on the screen -- it's as if whatever lights up the display shorts out after a second but the monitor itself continues to work.

    Same problem. `i find that after 15 minutes of being 'on-but-not-on' if I then shutdown (not restart) and then turn on my computer again it works after a couple of times of turning it off and on.

    Also If you shine a bright torch onto the screen Il bet you can see a very faint image of what you should be seeing.

    ````its something to do with the voltage regulator as far as I can tell, however I cannot crack open my monitor casing to take a look -.-
    Same problem here! I thought that it was due to several power jumps my computer had in my old house but it sounds like more people have the same problem. I had a system for getting it to work also but it won't stay on at all now, just the one second flicker.
I have 2 systems with the FPD1500 monitor. They worked fine until I applied
SP2. After SP2, they will not start. They come on OK, display the Windows
XP splash screen and then go into sleep mode when the system starts the
proper display mode before the Windows XP login screen is displayed. If I go
into safe mode and uninstall the video adaptor and restart the system, it
will start properly. After it comes up, it finds the video adaptor and
installs it and the session proceeds OK. I can reset the resolution and
number of colors to 1024x768 and Highest (32 colors) and things look fine.
However, when I restart the system, it hangs up after the Windows splash
screen and the monitor goes to sleep.
If I put it into VGA mode, it will come up OK. But once I change any
resolution or number of colors, it imediately goes to sleep.
I would appreciate any help you could offer.
• 2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTOR CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.
That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.
Replace your battery.
Monitor comes on for a second then goes off. Power light stays on
You say you can still see the screen if you look close enough. The only thing that gives it more light is the backlight. It is either shorting itself out right after it comes on or the device that powers it (usually the inverter) is the culprit.
There are more than one inverter circuit for this model. One is prone to have poor solder connections in the transistors Q8 & Q10.
Another can be repaired by replacing 2 1uF electrolytic capacitors near the center edge of the board between the lamp sockets.
Gateway monitor fpd1530
There are multiple curcuits for this model.
Quick turn off of the backlight can be caused by deteriorated solder connectiond on Q6 & Q10 on the power supply/inverter board. Resolder and reassemble. (board mfgr: BI Electronics)
Monitor goes blank less than a second after turning on.
Beautiful screen, lasts about for a few minutes, goes black. Power button still green. If I turn it off, and then back on, it works again for a while. Any ideas?
FPD1530 monitor - no display
I recently fixed 4 fpd1530's with the problem you describe. The fix is to replace capacitors c105 and c106 located on the left side of the power supply board. Both are 1 microfarad 50V parts. The fpd1530 is very easy to work on. Total repair time after initial diagnosis averaged about 10 minutes.
Black screen
How old is the computer? Make sure that the power light comes onto the monitor when you plug it in, should be orange and then turn green when video card syncs with it when PC is turned on. If you are getting black screen when PC is powered on:
1. Bad video card
2. Bad video cable
3. Bad monitor
1Solution: Try using a different monitor attached to this same PC and see if it works. If it does, then its the monitor, its cable, or its power supply. If it doesn't work, then its the video card or the video cable coming from monitor.
