Question about Philips 42PF9631D 42 in. Plasma Television
I have a Philips 42PF9631D/37 Plasma TV. In the upper left hand corner area there is a white shimmer that appears on the edges of objects in the picture. If a person is on the screen and standing in the sun or a light, the edges of the lighter parts have a white or colorless shimmer. If the person's ear is in light around the top of the ear where the light is hitting it, it is discolored and shimmering. It's hard to explain but it seems to be getting worse. Can you help?
It's likely the upper Y-module but both the upper and lower could be having problems - just nothing noticeable in the lower half of the screen as yet, is my guess..
This is not a job for a layman and you'll need some fairly sophisticated equipment to troubleshoot the boards, not to mention being able to read schematics and understand waveforms. Hence, my best advice would be to take it in to a reputable shop and have it estimated...
