Ooh, Magic Chef parts can be hard to get.... Try SearsPartsDirect.com or RepairClinic.com. Otherwise, you will have to contact MagicChef, but they won't sell parts like that to consumers....

SOURCE: Magic Chef 1.0 cu. ft. Convection Microwave Oven

There are several things that could cause a microwave not to heat. Most common is the magnatron and some models have up to a 5 yr warranty on that part. Check the owners manual for that info.

SOURCE: Changing light bulb in microwave oven

If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (and the owner's manual doesn't address it) some disassembly may be required.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

SOURCE: vent fan high comes on automatically with cooking

Right, that would be MCO10UW and the owner's manual is here.

The owner's manual does say this, of course,

"To prevent overheating from taking place, the exhaust
fan is designed to automatically turn on at a low speed if
excessive temperatures occur. Should this happen, the
fan cannot be manually turned off, but it will
automatically turn off when the internal parts have
cooled. The fan may stay on for up to an hour after the
range and microwave oven controls have been turned
off."

That;'s standard on microwaves.

But these models do have a separate internal cooling fan (which should run any time you microwave) plus the hood vent exhaust fan, which should only run when you select it, or if there is an excessive stovetop or under-hood temperature.

So if it comes on whenever you microwave, that is incorrect.

When that happens, it's usually a defective vent thermal switch (a.k.a. hood TCO).

But since it's brand new, I would certainly contact Magic Chef about this. If it's in need of repair, they will fix it free, assuming the oven wasn't physically damaged.

My sister operated the Magic Chef Microwave, Model MC0165UB, without any food inside and now it won't heat. What is the likely problem?

The diode converts the A/C power output of the transformer to D/C, doubling the voltage to nearly 5,000 volts. This high voltage powers the magnetron to heat the food. If the diode burns out, the magnetron won't receive enough voltage to operate, preventing the microwave from heating. When the diode fails, it is often visibly burned out. Inspect the diode and if the diode is burned out, replace it. If inspecting the diode proves inconclusive, test it with a multimeter that uses a 9-volt battery or put a 9-volt battery in series with the diode. When the leads are reversed, the diode should only have continuity in one direction. (Warning: The microwave oven can store a lethal amount of electricity in its high voltage capacitor, even after the microwave oven has been unplugged. Due to the high running voltage and the potential for electric shock, it is extremely dangerous to replace the electronic components in a microwave. Only a licensed technician should replace the diode.)

Magic Chef over-the-range microwave oven doesn't cook. Clock, inside lights and turntable are fine

If it lights up, the fuse is fine. On all of the recent Magic Chef's I've repaired, the magnetron has been the cause of the problem you described. Another possible common culprit is the high voltage rectifier.

Clouds of smoke started coming from the inside of it and we had to put it outside the smoke was coming out of the holes on the inside

It is time to replace the microwave oven, the problem you are describing is one or more issues, the high voltage transformer, high voltage capacitor, the magnetron, and the high voltage diode all play a key roll in generating the high voltage which translates into heating the food. The cost in my view will run high and would be put to better use buying a new microwave oven.

I have a magic chef that has microwave grill conventional oven every thing works except microwave don't heat

It sounds like the magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 on high resistance range for short circuit, the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

I have( had) A magic chef microwave model MCD11E3W I must have had a power surge in kitchen refrig and oven turned off circuit breaker turned off.. All other appliances came back on but the Microwave,,...

It ispossible that the secondary transformer has failed which is the feed of the voltage for the processor timer/clock unit. So check this out with a multimeter and you can get to buy the transformer as it is a step down low voltage type., normally mounted on the processor board.
Check also if the fuse has blown if so replace.
I dont think there could be any further damage.
Credit me if this helps.

There's no high voltage ,thus no magnetron activity

check the ceramic fuse in the primary circuitry as it probably blew out when the primary connection arced and burned through

Microwave not heating up

Magnatron is suspect. Need to put a voltmeter on the input (primary) side to the high-voltage transformer (big heavy iron thing in there) Should be getting 120Vac when it goes to cook cycle. Don't touch the other (high voltage) side of this transformer. If the power is there, you are looking at replacing either the magnatron or the high-voltage capacitor and diode. Its affordable if you do it yourself - buy the part on EBAY - lookup "universal magnatron"
