Question about Kenmore 46462 Front Load Washer
We were able to wash our first load of laundry just fine but during the second load the washer kept filling with water, even during the drain and spin cycles. At the end of the wash the machine shut off but water was still pouring into the machine. I was able to open the door but obviously water started pouring out so I couldn't get my clothes out. We've tried to do just the Drain/Spin cycle two separate times but it still fills with water during the whole cycle. What is the problem?
Either your pressure switch is bad, or the air line that connects to the presuure switch has come loose. The pressure switch is located on the right-hand side rear of the washer with the top cover removed. It is a brown colored, disk shaped, device with an electrical connection and an air hose connection. Sometimes this hose comes loose in shipping, or the electrical connection may be loose. Without it, the washer will continue to fill and will NOT shut off. Now...if you just purchased this unit, DO NOT do anything that will void the manufacturer's warranty. It may be an inconvenience, but I would recommend you get the appliance repairman to come in and take a look at it. That way...you won't be held liable if something were to break. This is, however, usually a simple problem and not considered major. I hope this reassures you some. Post back with comments if you have any further questions/concerns.
