Question about Canon PowerShot S230 / IXUS 179 Digital Camera
My camera was working just great now when I try to take a picture you can see like an interference or moving horizontal bands going across the screen. When the actual picture is taken it is mainly white bands and a little bit of picture in the background. I have tried changing the battery, compact flash card and also reformatting the card. It has not been dropped or mishandled in any way. I would appreciate your help...I have so loved the pictures I get from this camera.
This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Mikrofiber towel and a few drops of wather.
Clean the lense even if looks clean.
Try to reset the camera in the menu to the factory settings.
If not help service only.
