I have a divided picture on DVD's (Same picture on the right and on the left side of the screen, elongated vertically to fill the screen.
I have no color. Just black and white.
I tried to change cables, but it didn't work.
In the manual they list as troubleshooting a "divided picture", stating that "the unit is controlled by a microcomputer which may need to be reset. Turn off the unit's power, wait several seconds, then turn it on"
I've tried this also but it didn't work.
Can you help me? Thanks

I have a very similar issue - but when I hit p-scan, it changes the issue from horizontal split-screen to a vertical split-screen. It really acts like it needs horizontal adjustment.
Same Problem

-   Thank you! Almost two years after this post and a different model, but same problem and similar solution; I had no PS or PScan button, but I had a reset button on the remove and VOILA! Back to normal - now, when the kitties are on the couch and walking on remotes, at least I know what to do to fix the DVD picture now.
Bravo!

The split screen (identical display left & right) indicates that your DVD is on Progressive Scan.
P scan refers to progressive scanning mode and is not an
indication of something broken but rather is a feature. What you can
do is look over your remote and check if it's got a PS or PScan button.
Pressing the button should revert to the single display. If there is
no such button, pls check your menu or settings and should be there
somewhere. At other times, there is a small hard switch at the rear (or
front) of the player itself just for this purpose.
On your concern for no color, determine the color system of the disc you're playing, the setting of your DVD player as well as the color system of your TV. They should be the same. The 3 systems are NTSC, PAl and SECAM.
Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back should you have other concerns.
Good luck and kind regards.

i put a dvd in drive and the text reads "load"; however, nothing shows on screen and then you can hear the dvd stop spinning. it literally spins for about 1 minute and then stops. i have tried multiple dvds...nothing works...the problem seems to lie somewhere in the actual disc reader, i believe. thoughts and is this fixable on my part or something i would need to send into the manufacturer to have fixed? thanks.
