Question about GE Nautilus 24" Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Stagnant water after running

After running the dishwasher, there is a large puddle of water that remains. Throughout all of the cycles, you can hear and see the pump at the bottom of the dishwasher suck the water out. But at the last cycle it seems like it doesn't get all of the water out and it just sits there in the dishwasher. If you don't soak it up with a rag, it gets smelly. Is this a defect or is that the way it is supposed to be.

Cycle starts, but does not fill with water

When I start a new cycle, I first hear the pump run to empty out all remaining water, and after that I hear the motor run for the regular washing cycle, but there is no water in the dishwasher. After a few minutes, the cycle stops, and the washer claims the dishes are 'clean'. When I try starting a new cycle over and over again, about one in 20 times, the cycle will run normally with water. But then the next time, the problem starts all over again. Once a cycle starts correctly, everything works fine, including the rinsing.

Kenmore 13789 draining/cleaning issues

Check your wash arms - make sure the holes or nozzels are clear (not blocked), and make sure they are free to turn. Make sure you are not over-loading the dishwasher or placing large plates or pans in front of the soap dispenser. Next is to check to see if enough water is going into the DishWasher (DW). This varies with different models, so it's hard to tell you how much is enough. Next thing to check is to make sure the heater is working to heat the water during the wash cycle. (Listen for the soap dish to open, then open the door 10 or 15 minutes later and see if the water is hot.) If your dishwasher has a removable filter, you need to take that out and clean it at least once a month. And finally, if your dishwasher is all encrusted with calcium and hard-water deposits, you probably need to run a dishwasher cleaner in the machine. (Use Dishwasher Magic, or Finish Corp's Dishwasher cleaner, or Glisten, or even Lemi-Shine detergent-booster powder or their dishwasher cleaner.
Hope this helps!

Danby dishwasher not washing

see this possible causes: 1) water heating cycles;the water must be preheating, test the heating elements and thermostat. 2) Timer: test for defective, clean contact, repair any wires loose, burn, or break. 5_9_2012_1_15_39_pm.gif

There is a smell in the dishwasher and on the dishes when clean

I suspect stagnant water is laying in the bottom areas. You will have to lay the machine on it's back to access the pump.

Dishwasher will not start

Go to your electrical panel and turn off the circuit that feeds your dishwasher. It will also turn off the clean light. Wait three minutes and then turn the circuit back on. That should reset your machine.
