Question about Philips Magnavox Learning Universal Remote
Okay, the problem I'm having is incredibly frustrating. I bought a Philips DVDR 3400 from someone and it came with a Universal remote (Philips) instead of the factory model remote. I punched in the code required and that enables me to power the unit off and on. But the Set Up button is the same button as the Input button so when I try to set up the DVDR to utilize the cable channels set-up, it just keeps switching the Inputs. it's maddening. i've spent two hours on the phone with the support people at Philips Remotes and they have no idea. Why they'd design a remote with two seperate functions under the same button seems crazy. Has anyone else here experienced this problem and knows a way around it? it might be incredibly simple and I just haven't figured it out. Thanks for any advice you can offer.
I found that this website should have all the codes and instructions for most remotes
if this helps please give a fixya rating as thats how we get paid.

You might try this site for the code listings for that remote:
Additionally, try all the brands listed below because Emerson, Philips and Magnavox, are all divisions of the same low-end, cheap Japanese electronics company, Funai:
Funai, Symphonic, Sylvania, Emerson, Aventura, Durabrand,ESA, Magnavox, Insignia, Philips and Misakai

SOURCE: I have a philips srp5107wm/17
Did you try and look into your manual to see if there is a different code that you can use to reprogram your remote. Sometimes that will help.
