Question about Sunbeam EL-KB-03-BK Black 107 Key Illuminated Keyboard PS/2 - RETAIL (DSSUNELKB03BK)

1 Answer

No manual with EL-KB-03-SV

I'm trying to find out what the middle light at the right top of the lighted keyboard is for. It was lighted earlier in use, and has now not lit. I don't know what key I hit to turn it off, but I have no manual to tell me what it is. Can you help?

There is no Caps Lock light on the keyboard. The instructions say there should be a symbol on the Windows taskbar for keyboard modes such as this but I can't see it.

off to the right on the top. if u press your caps lock on the left in the middle of the keyboard. light should come on at upper right above the number keys.

Light on gateway keyboard kb-0817 where is it or

There are no lights are the less expensive keyboards that are shipped with many Gateway computers. They have a more expensive keyboard that does have lights. Suggest you get that one or some other keyboard with lights already included.

Love my new Saitek Keyboard, but I don't what some of the buttons do???

You can download a manual here: For the 1, A, and Down Arrow: My guess is that these are actually the indicator lights for Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock. For the four silver round buttons: The top right corner of your Eclipse keyboard features a set of controls for changing your computer?s audio volume and the brightness of the Eclipse Keyboard?s backlighting. To reduce audio volume, press button A until the desired volume level is reached. To increase volume, press button B. To mute the audio output, press button C and press it again to cancel mute. Press button D to control the brightness of the backlighting. Press the button to scroll through lights off, lights full brightness and lights half brightness.

Hold pedal

I had the exact same problem with my Casio keyboard and a Yamaha sustain pedal I bought.

I'm not an electrical genius, but I was able to get it to work by opening it up and doing a little modification. Of course I first just tried switching the white wire with the black one but that didn't change anything at all when I tried it. It turns out the Casio wants the circuit completed to sustain, and broken for no sustain, which is the opposite of what the Yamaha pedal does.

I opened it up and mine had three three flat metal strips let's call them Top, Middle and Bottom. The Middle and Bottom ones were joined together on the right side, and the Middle and Top ones were touching on the left side when the pedal was not pressed. These seperated when the pedal was pressed, thereby breaking the circuit because the wires were on the top plate and on the joined Middle/Bottom plate.

So to flip it I:
1. Unsoldered the Bottom wire
2. Cut apart the Bottom and Middle plates on the right.
3. Bent the Middle plate on the right to touch the Top plate instead and soldered those together.
4. Soldered the Bottom wire back on.

That's it! Once I figured it out, it took only a few minutes to fix.
Good luck!
