Problem with tv just blinking power light but no picture- what do you think the problem is?
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. no kidding? what is the problem so prevelant in this unit? obvious design flaw.

Start by counting the red blinks. This will hopefully tell you what the problem is. Then check back with the number of blinks.

Depending on how old it is it may be a lamp issue. Check your manual to see what the blinking light means. if it's a lamp issue you may need a new lamp and have to reset the lamp timer.

Power surge will knock out picture and sound if you don't have a power strip. Found out from Best Buys when purchasing another LCD TV. They have a warrenty against such problems.
