You want a spark on your drill? This drill likely has "brushes" that make contact with the armature that allows current flow so that it turns. If the brushes no longer make contact or the armature wiring is defective then the current flow stops and so does your drill. High quality models provide access to the brushes and allow replacement. But, if the armature is defective or a low quality then consider a replacement.

No, Ryobi Corded Hammer Drills do not have fuses. To verify enter your model number on the Model Tab at the below listed Link and chose Wiring Diagram from the Pop-up which comes up after clicking on the found model(s) https://www.ryobitools.com/outdoor/support/parts Then Click on the GO TO POWER TOOLS PARTS STORE Button

with the drill not running

grab the bottom part of the spinning part of the drill nearest the drill's motor.
then
grab the spinning shaft bit nearest the drill bit

Hi. i have ryobi a 3 speed hammer drill that won't run but attempts to start

Hello,

it sounds like a damaged switch. It is best to have it checked and replaced if it is broken. It´s better to do before it starts running and wont come off :D

I have a ryobi d551H hammer drill and I can't get it to work in only hammer mode....what am I doing wrong...I don't have an instruction manual

The spindle still spins, even in hammer mode. This model will jump out of hammer mode, sometimes you will have to duct tape it in position hammer.

As per the Ryobi web Site, there is unfortunatly no repair centers in Dallas. Go to if you go to the Ryobi website look under "support". They list a bunch of centers for Texas.

RYOBI hammer drill model D551H dosn't start.

The problem could be somthing as simple as the cord, or the switch, or it could be that the motor has failed. There is no way to know unless you test the internals of the unit. If you are not familiar with that procedure I would take the unit to a service facility.
