Your ADF feed rollers are worn or dirty. Clean or Replace the rollers and it should pick up pages again.

SOURCE: printer will not feed paper / message E2 ...cannon pixma mp 160

don't know if it's the same problem i had but its maybe worth a try. My paper went in a little, the wheels were turning but it didn't take the rest of the paper or print.
someone replied to my problem, i tried it and its fixed 1st time, for others its taken a few attempts and then worked..
Solution:- Use a piece of thin card, a magazine cover is what i used, make sure its A4 size then try to print something, as the paper starts moving PUSH it through! and hey presto it worked for me, everything printing fine now. hope this helps, let me know how you get on. Garty

SOURCE: copy limit

the only way is to goto additional functions > System Settings> dept I.D > set a user code and password, then you can set a copy limit per user id, once a copy limit is reached you have to reset it or create a new user I.D. Thats the only way, you can also get reports on how many copies each I.D has done..

Hope this helps

SOURCE: vertical black line on side of copies only when using autofeed

Clean the small piece of glass on the flat bed. Should be on the left side of the flat bed when you lift the doc feeder.

SOURCE: Line appears on copies when using the automatic feeder.

You have a piece of dirt or whiteout on the scanner glass. When the paper is moving by, it creates a "Line" if the paper is sitting still on the glass, it may be a dot or it may even use a different glass alltogether for ADF vs Paltten scanning.

I was wondering if there is anyway that you can make double sided copies and if so how??

Only copiers fitted with a duplexing unit will automatically make a double sided copy. I assume yours does not have this accessory.
You can always make two sided copies manually. You need to first work out the paper path, so mark one piece of paper with an arrow showing the top and the direction the sheet was placed on top of the paper feed tray. Make a copy and you will now know whether the top or bottom of the paper as loaded gets printed on. Now place that sheet back in the paper feed tray again with the arrow face down in the paper tray, but still pointing in the same direction as before. Print side two and you will now have a double sided copy. If the reverse of the copy is facing the wrong way then you know that the paper needs to go into teh paper tray with the arrow facing you. Hope this makes sense, but it just needs a couple of trial runs to get to understand which was round to put the paper back in for the revers side to be printed. Always keep the final successful double sided copy, marked up for future reference, as it is so easy to forget which way to put the paper back in several weeks later.

Can't work out how to use the multiscan? I press scan and it comes up with multiscan and I put the first piece of paper in but don't seem to get asked for any more sheets and it therefore just scans one...

Anita,

Put the pages in the "multiscan" all at once, not just one sheet at a time. The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) will feed one sheet of your document at a time untill all of the pages are scanned...
Thanks for using FixYa!

How to do copies,ie what buttons do i press

Making a Single Copy
1
Place the original face down in the ADF.
2 Press Copy/Help twice.
To cancel, press Stop.
Do NOT pull on the paper while copying is in progress.
Copy Options: Single or Multiple Copies,
Reduce/Enlarge, Sort/Stack
You can choose additional copy options. First, you can select the number of copies. Next, you can
choose whether multiple copies will be STACKED (all copies of page 1, then all copies of page 2, etc.)
or SORTED (collated). Finally, you can choose an enlargement or reduction ratio. To automatically

a fixed percentage, choose 93%, 87%, 75% or 50%. Or, to enlarge the copy, select 150%, 125% or
120%. To copy a document at its original size, select 100%.
1 Place the original face down in the ADF.
2 Press Copy/Help.
3 Enter the number of copies you want (1-99).
For example: Press 9 for nine copies.
To start copying now, press Copy/Help.
If you would like to select additional copy options, like
