Print cartridge stuck

We have a series 3 c533 printer dock. The ink cartridge has gotten stuck. Help! We don't know how to fix it, or if it is even fixable. What should we do? Has this happened to anyone else before?

same exact problem not seeing a way to get it out

  • juleeanne Apr 01, 2008

Unswrewed the whole thing and pried open the part that was clamped down on it.

My 16 yr old son had to add his hands in to hold it open while I pulled out the cartridge,

Bought a 2nd unit, and that one wouldn't open right off the bat. Seems to be a problem with this unit's design. Although quickly repaired by simply using the reset method below.

The transfer button/left arrow key worked!

I am on my 2nd unit, and had it happen with both! I took the first one apart, pretty much destroyed it. Bought another and the same thing happened. So, just now, I used this method on BOTH docks and got BOTH docks to spit out and feed in new cartridges smoothly.
Even the broken one... wish I had read this before unscrewing those screws (don't do it!)

Just got off phone with Kodak.. To remove jammed cartridge on my series 3 printer dock, unplug power cord. Then hold down the transfer key and the left arrow button at same time and plug power cord back in. This will reset printer. My cartridge then popped out after lifting green tab.

I had the same issue ,I had to unscrew the top and then undo the screws that attach the green board with the processing unit on it ,then you will be able to see the cartridge .Now push the cartridge down with screwdriver at the end furthest away from the opening ,or lift the printing mechanism and slide the cartridge out .this will fix the problem of the stuck cartridge ,but I had the same problem with the next cartridge so will probably end up throwing the thing out .

My Canon Pixma MP258 printer can't print the red color but other colors are okay. When I print out any words or pictures that needs red color,it becomes green color.I don't know what's wrong...

1. Press START - Devices and Printers
2. Right-click the Canon MP258 series - select Printing preferences
3. Click Maintenance - Cleaning
4. Select All Colors BK, C, M, Y - Execute
5. Wait until the process is finished (Do not start another operation until the cleaning has finished).
6. Click Print Check Pattern OK

If the results print out like this, there are two possibilities:
1. Red ink in the cartridge runs out. Solution: injecting with red ink
2. If the red ink has been filled, and check pattern is still not out, meaning the color cartridge error.
Solution: replace the cartridges

Our mp530 is giving error code 6a00. I have swabbed ink out of the pad area that the ink cartridge docks and it appears that the pad has gotten stuck in the down position. It will not pop back up in spite...

The excess ink is dragged across the printed paper and smears the page with streaks of ink.
The excess ink dries fast and cloggs the printhead.
The black ink on the color ink printhead can contaiminate the other colors and ruin the print quality.
To resolve these 3 problem, try to replace the ink cartridges.

If not, try to remove and reinstall the wiper blade back in place. You will need to take the printer apart and take out the purge unit and re-install the wiper blade. If the blade is broken, you will need a new purge unit.

How do you get the ink cartridge out of the printer

  1. Unplug your Kodak Photo Dock's power cord. Pull the black tab on the right side of the printer down to open the ink cartridge door.
  2. 2 Push up on the green cartridge release tab in the upper center of the ink cartridge to release the old cartridge. Pull the old ink cartridge carefully from the Photo Dock.
  3. 3 Rotate the new ink cartridge's ribbon wheel on the side of the cartridge clockwise with your finger to remove any slack in the film. Do not rotate the wheel too much---this will damage the cartridge.
  4. 4 Insert the new ink cartridge into the Photo Dock with ribbon film facing down until you hear the cartridge click in place. The ink cartridge will only go in one way.

Do not touch the ribbon with your fingers. Handle the cartridge by its edges.
  5. 5 Close the ink cartridge door and plug in your Kodak Photo Dock's power cord.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); });

Check ink u163 error message

Firstly I suspect you are not using genuine cartridge or you have refilled the cartridge.
To fix this you need to disable the ink checking procedure.

Do you know that low ink or ink has run out message appears once cartridge empty. If you want to use refill ink in that cartridge then you need to deactivate ink level to get your printer run as usual. Check the following tips to fix low ink error message in case of refill ink usage. Below some methods to deactivate ink level detection function for some models due to its similarity.
