Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Connecting to bluetooth automatically

I have a plantronics 340 bluetooth headset, which would atutomatically connect to my old phone as soon as i turned it on. it seems like that ought to be possible now that the bluetooth is "hooked up" to the razr, but i have to go into a menu during each call and choose an option to connect to the bluetooth. after several prompts, i have to enter the bluetooth passkey each time i want to get it connected. isn't there a more "automatic" way to connect? i thought i could just turn on the headset and it would connect to my phone.

Re: connecting to bluetooth automatically

There should be a easy way to connect, with some headsets it is and others there is not. The headset you talked about does this for you. The newer ones for security reasons will not do this automatically. With almost everyone going wireless and using bluetooth headsets everywhere, you have to through the extra measures. So, when you have your phone on always activate or enable "bluetooth". If you are going to be using the same headset, save it in your phone so that is qucker and easier to connect next time.

ATT BB Bold 9000 pairs with plantronics bluetooth headset fine but always drops connection when call is made

Make sure there are no other bluetooth devices interfering with the connectivity between headset and phone. Remove the Plantronics headset from the phone menu, if it's showing up. If possible, remove and re-attach the battery of the phone. Power off the headset. Pair the headset to the phone again and you should be okay.

How to pair a Plantronics Explorer 245 Bluetooth headset and a BlackBerry Tour

The Plantronics Explorer 245 headset can be paired with most Bluetooth-capable phones and smartphones to enable hands-free phone conversations. To pair the headset with a BlackBerry Tour, follow the steps below:

Make sure the Plantronics headset is off before trying to pair the two devices. On your BlackBerry, scroll down to Manage Connections (the antenna icon) in your Home folder and click the trackball. From the list of connections, select Set Up Bluetooth. The Add Device box will appear, asking if you want to search or listen for a Bluetooth device.

At this point, turn your Explorer 245 on by sliding the on/off switch toward the microphone end of the earpiece. Once the device powers on (if you have it in your ear, you'll hear a few short tones) you should see repeating red and blue flashes from the LED lights on the side of the headset. If you only see blue flashes, hold down the call button (the side button) for a few seconds, until the lights start flashing red then blue.

Now, on your Tour, select Search. Bluetooth will be enabled if it's not already, and then the BlackBerry will search for nearby devices. When the headset appears on the list of devices found (it should read "245Plantronics" or something similar) select it. A box will appear letting you know that pairing is now complete, and asking if you want to connect to the headset. Select Yes.

Your BlackBerry Tour and Explorer 245 are now paired. If at any point you turn the headset off, turn the BlackBerry off, or turn the BlackBerry's Bluetooth feature off, the two devices will automatically reconnect when they are able. When you look at your list of paired devices on the BlackBerry, the Explorer headset will appear in bold to show that it is currently connected.

I have a nokia 5230 and a plantronics 360 bluetooth headset and i can't connect the headset to phone. what can i do?

You want to make sure there is no other bluetooth interference. Try turning off the phone and disconnecting the battery for few seconds and reconnecting. This helps to reset the phone. Then follow the pairing instructions found in the Plantronics Explorer 360 User's Guide (pages 3-5).

How to connect the plantronics explorer 233 ?

  • Make sure your Plantronics Explorer headset is fully charged and turned off.

  • Press and hold the call control button (the button on the face of the headset opposite the earbud) for six seconds. When the light begins flashing blue and red, the headset is now ready for pairing with your phone.

Select the Menu on your cell phone. Once the menu is displayed, select Settings, then Bluetooth Menu.

  • Select the option to add a new device. This will both turn on Bluetooth capabilities in your phone and put it into a setting known as "Discovery mode." The phone should discover your Plantronics headset automatically and display "XXXPlantronics." ("XXX" represents the model series number, such as "320Plantronics.")

  • Select the Plantronics option on your phone. In many cases, the phone will automatically recognize the headset, but if you are prompted to enter a passkey, proceed to the next step.

  • Enter "0000" if you are prompted for a passkey. Your headset will flash blue once it is successfully paired with your phone. Once paired, the Bluetooth headset will automatically recognize your cell phone each time it is turned on

Unable to pair LG GM200 bluetooth 2.0 A2DP with Plantronics Pulsar 260. Error: "Request Failed" Please help in connecting this two devices

Each pair of BT enabled phone and headset is a particular world. I don't have the Plantronics, but my LG phone pairs fine with my Lubix stereo headsets. I'll tell you how I managed to pair them: I put my headsets in pairing mode. Then, on my phone, I go to 'Connectivity > Bluetooth > Device list > Options > New'. If my bluetooth stack is off I'm prompted to turn it on. It starts to search for devices, and comes up with my BT headsets' name, I press 'Pair', it prompts me for the pairing code. I enter '0000' (the same code for your Plantronics' headsets, by the way) and Ok. Then, back to the Device list, I select the BT headsets and go to 'Options > Connect'. I'm good to go. After listening to music, I use to go again to 'Connectivity > Bluetooth > Device list', select the headsets and press 'Options > Disconnect'.
    Hope it works for you.
    Cheers! Carlos

Did you do the steps listed here?
    This is the Plantronics information.
Your new headset includes Plantronics QuickPair technology to simplify
the Bluetooth setup process. The rst time you turn your headset on, your
headset automatically enters pairing mode for 10 minutes. Once paired
successfully, your headset stays on for instant use.
If not sucessfully paired after 10 minutes, your headset automatically
powers o. When you turn the headset on again, it automatically goes
into pairing mode until successfully paired with a Bluetooth phone.
To pair your headset for the rst time:
Turn ON the Bluetooth feature on your phone.
TIP: For most phones, select Settings/Tools > Connections > Bluetooth > On.
See your phone’s user guide for more information.
Press and hold the call control button to turn on your headset. (The indicator
ashes red/blue to show that the headset is on and in pairing mode.)
TIP: If you don’t see the red/blue ash, press and hold the call control button to
turn your headset o, and then press and hold the call control button again until
    you see the red/blue ash.
Use the commands on your phone to locate your headset.
TIP: For most phones, select Settings/Tools > Connections > Bluetooth >
Search > 520Plantronics. See your phone’s user guide for more information.
When prompted for the passkey, enter 0000.
When pairing is successful, the indicator on your headset ashes blue. Your
headset is now connected and ready to use.

Cannot connect my plantronics discovery 925 to my i580

In order to connect your i580 to this headset you must hold down the power button on the plantronics headset while you choose link to devices. If you just power up the headset then try to pair it you will not be able to discover it. you must hold in the headset powwer button the entire time you are linking the device. After your phone finds the 9XX headset you can bond the device using a passkey of 0000.

N95 - not recognising bluetooth headset

Here is the manual for your phone. Page 28 describes how to get your phone ready for your bluetooth headset.

But as for your headset, it depends on the individual headset. If you had a plantronics headset, you would go to their site, , click their support section, and then find your headset and grab the manual off the site for it.

Usually for headsets, it involves holding the power button on for so long, then entering your default password for the headset(usually 1111) into your phone.

Between your phones manual, and the headset one, you should be good to go. :)
