My garmin will not talk to me. I have the volume at 100%

SOURCE: Voice directions not working.

First, ensure that you are using the unmuted internal speakers by pressing the power button twice while the unit is on.

Do you hear beeps (button tones) through the speakers?

These are a couple things to try:

1. Change the voice from English TTS (JILL) to English TTS (JAKE) - This will demonstrate whether the voice database has been corrupted.

2. Tap the power button twice while the unit is on to switch back to fm transmitter and attempt to use your radio to tune the sound. If you succeed here, you may indeed have a problem with your internal speaker. A return of the product may be necessary.

Go to Tools|Settings|Language|and change it to "American English (Jack or Jill) TTS).

SOURCE: Had Garmin nuvi 765 installed

There is a slight possibility t could be a faulty or loose wire. You can check. But it also is common in for some newer units that have lots of shelf life on them to need a software update which can be found on manufacture's site and some others as well. Many youtube videos with directions on how to update these units.

If the mute is not checked, try plugging in a set of headphones. if you now hear sound, your internal speaker is blown. Please see this link:
