I have a 6-cell battery but it conks out after 2

I have a 6-cell battery but it conks out after 2 hours with the warning critical battery. However, if I press the keyboard it resumes operations for another 2+ hours. Is this normal?

No that is not normal. You are getting a false warning. There may be something wrong in your power consumption sttings, but it sounds like some sort of strange virus or cmos problem.
