I have a Technics SL-PD627 5 disc changer and I want to know is it possible to convert it to read CDs that I have burned from my computer? Thank you

You will probably find that it is the way you are burning the CD's not the fact that they are burnt that is causing your problem.

When it comes to home made audio CD's there are two ways to go:

Method 1 (MP3 CD - only works with newer CD players):
You essentially copy music to the cd as if it were a usb stick and then click write these files to disk. This method allows for (depending on file size) upwards of 100 songs.

Method 2 (Audio CD - the Red Book method):
In method two you burn a cd in the same way that you buy most CD's from the store. This way allows you to add up to 80 mins of music/audio to a disk (method one is limited to file sizes - method two is limited by the amount of time each song takes up).

Considering that the Red Book method was made commercially available in 1982 (the same year as your CD changer), and that the MP3 CD came into play in about 1999 - it is impossible for your CD changer to support the MP3 CD (unless it has been heavily modified).

I have a Rowe AMI 100 cd jukebox. The right side speaker will play for about 3 songs and then go out. Other speakers continue ti work. Is this a speaker problem or something else?

Make sure all the wiring is secure, you may have a bad coil on the speaker, then you need your amplifier checking by someone competent

Loud HUM from 1963 Wurlitzer 2710 when plugged in

If you observed a vacuum tube with the symptoms you describe, it requires replacement but there may be other failed components as well.

I recorded a music cd on my sony and when i went to finalize-the songs vanished..i've only had it for two years is this the end of the line?

First, let's find the missing music. Stick the CD into a DVD player and see if it can play it. They usually CAN play unfinalized CD's but only straight-through because there is no TOC.

If the recordings are there, try finalizing it again. If not, digitally dub the CD in real-time from the DVD player to another CD in the Sony and see what happens.

I'm betting it was a fluke.

Pioneer CDJ-200 CD player will not read discs?

You need to be a bit more specific. It might be a formatting issue, in which case, you need to convert your music that's on your cds. The songs must be in "CBR or Constant Bit Rate" format. Most songs come in Variable Bit Rate format, which the 200's aren't able to play. Get a music converting application, I've used dbPoweramp's converter for quite some time, had to buy an MP3 license, but it was worth it. Unlimited conversions = more fun with the tables :) good luck!

My one-year old Marantz CD5001 CD player

these models use the 12.1 philips laser mechanism and it is a very common problem for failing to read discs.
various technics / marantz / philips / cyrus cd players etc also use it and are plagued with the same fault.
it's a 90% chance the laser is dead!
philips realised the unreliability of this laser and uprated it to the identical looking VAM-12.
do not dismiss the spindle motor as these also fail quite alot on this mechanism.

hope this helps.
