Gas Dryer does not run, light comes on in drum, everything else is dead.

I have the same dryer. My control panel went dead today too. Light in drum works just fine. Nothing working at all on the control panel.

does the element come on at this point ?
I'm not sure if you tried this already or not, but i would unplug the unit and wait a min and plug it back in and see if it resets and then works again . you could have had a power surge .

Lets see, you have power to the gas assembly so the fuse is good and the ignitor will fire up. But she won't fire off again. The flame sensor is working because the ignitor is coming on and off. That means the control thermostat is working so everything is working. So what's the problem. Simple. The solenoid coils heat up and quit on these machines with a little age. Very difficult to diagnose unless you know the trick.

turn gas off to dryer. For safety it is best not to wait get your gas company to find leak(i don't think they charge for that)if it is at the control valve you should take the screws that hold the coils down out.Remove coils and rubber O rings and replace all with new ones it comes as a kit

there is no pilot light. electric igniter will glow and pull amps allowing gas valve to open. if you do not see igniter glow it is bad or thermal fuse has blown. look for 120 volts at the igniter when running. if voltage found bad igniter, if no voltage trace back to fuse/stats.this assumes dryer is actually running. if drum not turning could be a number of things. door switch, fuse, etc

All you need to do is replace those pesky intermittant coils

You may have a problem with a thermal overload sensor. Since it runs and then shuts off, this sounds like the problem.

sonds as if you have abad door switch assy, uint not reconozing the door closed

the flame going out is normal. the heat cycles on and off as called for by the thermostat. If the heat doesn't come back on i would start by changing the gas coils.

When you try to restart do you hear a motor running? If you do hear that sound and the dryer does not turn your belt could be the problem. (broken)
