I am replacing the lcd screen on a nikon cool pix and i don't want to force the cable connection but it just does not want to connect easily

Try re-charging or replacing batteries - if they are rechargeables that have been in use for some time, or have been left uncharged for a period, they may need replacing anyway.

If the line is permanant it is a fault with the lcd screen. If the line shows in the pictures displayed on a different screen the fault is with the lens or other component. LCD screens can be replaced quite easily and have come down in price a lot in the last few years. If you are somewhat handy and feel comfortable opening the camera a little web searching may allow you to do the repair. If you can live with the line and it doesn't show on the pics it will probably last quite a while as it is.

Hello there, for transferring media from the memory card to your computer it is much better to remove the memory card from the camera slot and use a card reader as the operating system of your computer will detect it as new media found and you can easily drag and drop the files you want to utilize and will save battery on your camera as well.

Sometimes with new electronics they make cable ports tighter, (eg. usb ports on new computers) for safety and security, try using a bit of force but if it seems like your using more than you should....stop JUST IN CASE

A sudden jolt like that can damage the working parts of the lens, and or the internal connections. What can happen is that the small connectors can become unhooked and lose conductivity. If that happens, then you various controls or all controls will quit.
Because the screen is blank or black, it could also mean that the LCD is broken.
