ever since i got halo 3 and updated it my xbox has been freezing randomly

i play elder scrolls oblivion and it makes a loud squeak and the game freezes so i reset it and then itll work again. im really starting to doubt microsoft....

WizThere are two possible solutions to this issue. One the data that you downloaded either got corrupted during transfer somehow or during a resent save. You should delete all the iformation off your hard drive and start fresh. If this doesnt work try takeing off your hard drive and playing Halo3 if it deosnt freeze you will need to either try the delete method or get a new HD.
If this doesnt solve your issue then it is very possible that your system is headed for the red rings of death. My system was fried after i had played assasins creed. It would freeze up and create this checker pattern on my back ground my system shortly after went red ring.

MasterThis problem is caused by the processor taking too much heat namely the CPU and the GPU.
All you need to know is how to stop the processor taking too much strain and you will have your Xbox working again in no time!

Gurudoes it only do it for halo 3? you might have just happen to have a problem starting around the time you updated
sounds like the the processor is over heating and its causing the system to shut down before it burned up the board. basicly your thermal paste between your processor and the heatsink isnt doing its job. there could be a crack on it might have just degraded over time.
this can cause the system to freeze or see things ont he screen. it needs to be repaired before more issues happen.

last sunday, i played halo 3 and the gane started freezing. Now, the freezing is frequent, revealing a checker pattern on the screen. i discovered the system is freezing and not so much the game. the last thing i wanna do is to have to spend $280 to get a new system. How can i fix the problem for good?

My Madden 08 football game freezes in the middle of a game. i can't tell you how many times i've had to restart the game. I purchased another game, but it still does the same thing. my system plays my other games just fine, it freezes only on Madden 08. Can any one help me?
