There is a service manual behind the control panel it will show you how to test the door locks. If might have a bad lock solenoid.

SOURCE: Kenmore Washing Machine - no cold water coming in

most likely cuase would be the inlet valve
you would need the complete model number to make sure you get the right part for that unit.

Dryer is running, but rotating very slowly. it generates heat, but makes a very loud noise. it's a GE Adora Dryer

Instructions

1. Wait approximately 90 seconds for the light to turn off if the "Start/Reset" indicator light flashes. Press the "Start/Reset" button to restart the wash cycle.
2. Close the dishwasher door and move the latch to the locked position if you hear a beep once every 30 seconds when the dishwasher should be operating. The dishwasher will not operate if the door is open.
3. Turn on the hot water faucet and feel the water to check if it is hot. Wait for the water to warm up before running the dishwasher if the water is not hot. Check that you have proper water pressure and wait for the pressure to return to normal if it is low. Your dishes may not come out clean if the water is not the correct temperature or if you have low water pressure.
4. Move the dishes on the racks so that they do not block the detergent dispenser or washer arms on the bottom of the machine. The dishes will not come out clean if they block the detergent dispenser or the washer arms.
5. Load the proper amount of detergent in the dishwasher if you find spots or film form on your glasses. If you have hard water, use a rinsing product such as Jet-Dry in the dishwasher to clean the spots or film. If the problem persists, wash smaller loads of dishes.
6. Add only automatic dishwasher detergent to the dishwasher if you find excessive suds in the tub after running a cycle. Measure out the proper amount of detergent.
7. Press the "Heated Dry," "Hot Start," "Hot Wash" and "Added Heat" buttons, if you find that your dishes are not fully dry after a wash cycle completes.
8. Press and hold the "Heated Dry" button on the dishwasher for approximately three seconds if the control pad does not respond to button presses. This is the child lock that prevents unwanted use of the dishwasher.

Sounds like the valve isn't working properly.
One way to test is to turn off the water supplies and at the back of the machine switch the hoses.
Turn on the water and see if you get cold and not hot . If so replace the valve assembly

You are better off swapping the valves over in the machine until you can buy a replacement valve. I've done this for a month or so until I replaced the valve. Works as long as you only use a cold wash and your cold water is not too cold as to make the machine want to add some hot. If it does this then simply press start to clear the fault.

Check hose error on electrolux wave touch washing machine

I'm sure nojallo1 has already fixed his but I just ran into the same problem and didn't find anything in my searches for a solution. The problem I had was the test cycle wasn't long enough to get hot water through my water lines so it could verify the hot and cold hoses were in the proper places. Solution: Turn the hot water on in all the sinks in your house until they have hot water running through them. This will prime your hot water line so it is full of hot water instead of cold water. Then run the install cycle again and it should be fine.

My Maytag Neptune does not dispense hot water. Just a trickle. Warm and cold are OK

I'm not a repairman, only a "doityourselfer". Try some or all of the following:

1. Check water valve to see if it full open.
2. Check the hot water hose inlet on the back of the machine. Look for a strainer that may be clogged in the hose inlet (turn water valve off first).
3. Check hose for kinking.
4. With the hose disconnected from the washing machine, try running some hot water through the hose into a bucket just to verify the water is available.
5. With machine set to hot water wash, start a cycle and listen for the hot water solenoid to "click" when the machine is started (some solenoids are louder than others so listen carefully). If water begins to trickle in when you here the click then the solenoid is probably working properly.

Duet whirlpool washer has water in tub after non-use

Sounds like you need to check your water inlet valves and make sure that they are working properly. Inlet valves when the go bad will allow water to push through do to the water pressure just sitting there not doing anything. Try to figure out if the water is hot or cold. Or you can use a volt meter and see which on is not functioning properly
