Question about Maytag MER6772 Gemini Electric Kitchen Range
Canceled cleaning immediately and now the bottom oven won't open--not hot--not cleaning-not open HELP
Swing open your top oven door all the way. Look down between where the door meets the actual oven and you'll see a flat silver hook shaped latch that extends from the oven to the lower door. Simply push that latch over to the left with a butter knife or screw driver while pushing down on your lower door. And it should open. Then generously lube the latch with WD 40 or Dura Lube or some other spray lubricant until the hook releases easily.

We had the same problem but both doors locked and would not open. We called sears and they sent a repair man out since we were still under a purchased warrenty. He was unable to repair it and so they had to replace the stove.

First try to reset the board by turning the range off at the breaker. Let me know what happens so I can help further.

Tips for a great answer:
F9 is a door lock error and to solve this issue you can hold
the light switch for 15 seconds, this will reset the control. If it won't work
then hold the light switch in and set the unit to clean and after a minute
press cancel to cancel the clean cycle. If still it won't work then the door
lock assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post
back for further assistance.
