The microwave partially turns on, it lights up and counts down but doesn't actually start working. I would check a fuse but I can't find it. What can I do? It's only a year old!
This is usually a bad door switch or door switch mount.
If it's less than one year old, it's under warranty and you should contact Frigidaire to get it fixed free.
If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and
disassembly information at our site, linked here on Fixya: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

I have the same problem with a microwave that is less than 2 years.
I was able to confirm that it was a door switch by starting the microwave like I would normally do when it was working, and then slightly rocking the door switch by slightly pulling the microwave door handle and then slightly pushing it back several times (while the count down was still going on) and found that it started to work briefly confirming it was a bad door switch. Hope this helps someone out there diagnose the problem.

I had the same issue with the same model of Frigidaire (the microwave light and clock would work, but the fan/motor would not turn on unless I jiggled the closed door). I bought a new switch on Amazon.com for about 25 bucks. I replaced it today and it works like a charm! Saved a couple hundred bucks of repair work!

i think the magnatron is not working. the light comes on and the exhaust fan works, but the oven will not turn on, also the timer counts down. i have this oven for less than one year.
I have the same problem and it does appear to be the door switch. Any suggestions about repairing the switch? Thanks!
