Hello friend, thank you for your post!
In order to provide you with accurate information could I please get your model and serial number? Each refrigerator has different sets of instructions for leveling doors. Typically you can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside wall of the fresh food side of your refrigerator. I have included a link to search for any available manuals. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

The refrigerator needs to be perfectly leveled side to side dn should pitch back slightly. Also look at the plane of the doors, that is to say that they should be squared to the cabinet. If they are sagging, you may need to adjust the hinges.

If the model FRT18IS6CQG is correct your refrigerator has a defrost thermostat inside the fresh food section where the controls are. Need you to turn it clockwise until the refrigerator stops running. This puts the fridge in manual defrost. About 20 minutes later it should come back on without your help. If not we need to replace the timer. Let me know Sea Breeze

SOURCE: fridge door is lower then freezer door

The #1 cause for this problem: The floor beneath the fridge is uneven, causing the refrigerator "box" to be out of square. Adjust the levelers on the fridge bottom to compensate for the uneven floor. That should do it.

Removed the door switch. Tested OK. Removed fan; tested OK. Put back together and it worked. However, the fan for a moment had a sound like loose bearings, so I ordered a new one.

Your condenser fan probably is not running. It's underneath with the compressor. It should be running when the compressor runs. You can place a fan on the floor blowing on the condenser coils till you get it fixed. The fan should spin freely. Test the fan motor for continuity using a multitester. Set the multitester to the ohms setting X10. Place a probe on each terminal. The multitester should display a reading approximately mid-way between infinity and zero ohms. If the motor does not pass this test, it should be replaced. You don't need to test the middle one if you have one.

Testimonial: "Putting a fan on the floor is working! Will have to get a multitester to check the rest--guess Lowe's will have one in the electrical dept? Thanks!"

How do I raise the level of my refrigerator door to be even with freezer door?

Thank you for your inquiry, Leland Dodd!

I see that you are having difficulty in raising the level on your Frigidaire refrigerator, FGHC2331PF. I have reviewed your manual and there are two types of adjustment for either front rollers or lower hinge. If you are having issues with adjusting the doors or leveling your refrigerator I would recommend having a professional technician out to properly level your refrigerator. Best of luck! -Matt

Frigidaire FRT17G4BW9 doors not staying closed

Adjust the front legs of your refrigerator slightly to raise the refrigerator. and and store items on the freezer door shelves to add weight. This is a problem of pneumatics and a testament to how tight newer refrigerators are. When you close the large refrigerator door it compresses the air in the refrigerator compartment. Both compartments are connected by air passages and thus the pressure change is transferred to the freezer causing the freezer door to pop open.

Raising the front of the refrigerator a tiny bit will help both doors close from the 90 degree point, which is desirable. Adding weight to the shelf will just help the process.

An additional aid in self-closure will be to use vegetable oil on a paper towel to wipe down the hinge side face of both door seals. All these maneuvers should aid in causing the door to stay closed and re-close if it should open slightly. Good Luck
