- Its exactly as i stated...I have a AM-FM , CD player System in my 2002 Corvette. This is the factory installed system. I have no Tone adjustment for BASE. The knob is extended and will not work...My question ,is the problem inside the system or elsewhere and what might be required to be resolved. Thank you so much for responding. Best Regards, doug

- Hello, I wish to Thank every one for their suggestions... Aparently the previous owner or someone for unknown reasons had other wires spliced onto the maim door speakers and put on the woofers. The wires for the woofers were tucked in behind. The splices were removed, covered with heat shrink and returned to normal terminals. All works like new. So glad it was not the spaekers or Amp. Thank every one so much for taking the time to offer assistance. Best Regards, Doug

The problem could be in the head unit or in a speaker or one of the amplifiers . With bose it is a process of elimination because if one component is bad or is going bad the entire system will be off . A lot of times they all show the same signs . In your corvette do you have a stock sub woofer?

You have 3 choices - 1. the speaker is blown, 2. the wiring is broken or disconnected, 3. No output from the amp.
If you have a VOM, an inexpensive one wil work fine, and can get the speaker connection, set the meter to 1K, hold one lead against one speaker post and tap the other post, if the woofer cone moves it's not the problem. Connect the wires back to the speaker posts and then disconnect them from the amp. Hold one probe against one wire and tap the other - if the woofer makes a sound then woofer and wires are good - take the amp to the shop or buy a new one.
