Question about Computers & Internet
I need to know how to remove the DVD drive in my Acer Travelmate 2428AWXMi and replace it with another.
There are two screws that hold the CD/DVD drive in place on a laptop. I'm not familiar with your particular model but these screws are sometimes located on the bottom of the case and marked as such, others have them located under the keyboard. If you don't see them on the case bottom, look in your owners manual and see if it describes how to lift the keyboard. I don't recommend you try removing the keyboard without some clear instructions to follow as its real easy to break something on a laptop if you don't know what your doing. there should be just one screw directly behind the dvd drive in the centre of it. you might have to remove the cover for the memory/cpu to get to it. remove that screw, start the laptop, eject the dvd, turn the laptop off and then gently pull the whole drive and it will slide out.
