Remote interacting with TV

I have bought a Panasonic DMR-EX75 and the TV functions on the remote control (Channel & Volume controls) will not work with my Samsung TV (LA40M61B) even though the manual says it will. The codes 12, 17 & 18 from the manual do not work. What is the solution?

Re: Remote interacting with TV

According to my manual the codes for Samsung TVs are 31, 32 or 43.

Press and hold the TV on and off switch button.
Enter the two-digit code for your television set (while holding the TV power on the remote)

During my recent transfer to a new flat i lost my remote control for my panasonic dvd recorder type DMR EH67. I bought a universal remote control but i did not have the full functions of my lost one. In my...

You can try changing the command mode of the (genuine Panasonic) remote itself, press and hold [ ENTER/OK ] and the number [ 3 ] button together for 5 - 10 seconds, then release. Then try the remote with the unit. If it still shows DVD 3 on its display, no matter which button is pressed, reset the main unit to factory default as outlined in the user manual (assuming this model recorder has a tuner, there would be channel buttons on the front - try pressing and holding [ CH/UP ] and [ CH/DOWN ] together - for 5 - 10 seconds, until 'SETUP' appears, then release). This may or may not restore your DVD unit to the default (DVD 1) command mode. (Don't forget to reset the remote back to DVD 1 if you do reset the main unit - press and hold [ ENTER/OK ] + the number [ 1 ] button together as above).

Your new remote may be set to DVD 1 by default while your unit is DVD 3 = different remote command modes.

Hello, my remote for my Panasonic DMR-EZ47V DVD Recorder / VCR Combo recently stopped working, and whenever I press a button on the remote, I get a message on the display as "RC1" I'm guessing...

Actually, you are sort of correct, in a sense, RC1 means remote command mode 1 (the default mode of your combo unit). There is one way you can try to fix this:

Remove the batteries from the remote, press any button on it to clear its existing memory buffer, then re-insert them or replace them with new ones. While unit is on (no DVDs or tapes in it), point the remote at it - press and hold 1 and ENTER/OK buttons together for 10 seconds, then release.

This should (in most cases) restore full remote command operation to your combo unit - if when you press a channel button on it, and the unit's front channel changes, the remote is now functioning as it is meant to.

The good news is this will constitute any workshop repairs or costs (except perhaps new batteries for the remote if required).

I hope this helps a bit.

My Onkyo DR90 DVD Remote Will Not Operate Components

Your Onkyo DR90 DVD Receiver remote control does not have universal remote functions, and cannot be (easily) programmed to control a Panasonic DMR ES15. Your DR90 remote does have a limited learning function, but it is designed to learn the codes from your TV's remote to control the TV. Only the following buttons are programmable by the TV Learning function:

I hope that helps.

Using remote control on philips tv

Unfortunately, you can't.
The remote controller does have buttons on it to adjust a TV but these will only work with a Panasonic TV. Because your Phillips control codes are different, and the remote controller does not allow its send code to be adjusted, they won't talk to each other. The only thing you can do is get a universal remote and program it for both, or buy a Panasonic TV.

Blu-ray remote keeps triggering DVD recorder (and vice-versa)

You can "re-tune" your EX75 and its remote control by following the instructions on page 52 of the manual. This explains how to change the mode of the remote control. In short, you press the FUNCTIONS button on your remote control, get into the setup menu and select "others". The remote control entry is at the top of the list. You can change the setting from here.
