If the machine is not leaking water on the floor then the drain that the discharge hose is connected to may be lower than the tub. If so then the water is just siphoning out. Be sure that the entrance to the drain pipe where the hose is inserted is higher than the washer tub.

washing machines are a hgigh demand water usage sytem anyway..I would use the regular water heater with the washer as it holds 40 gallons and most washers pump in a minimum 20 gallonson the low side..

Washing machine wont hold water on any setting

raise the main drain hose to the top of the back control head. there may be a problem with the main hose being to low and the water is gravity siphoning out of the washer.make sure the washer is off when you lift the hose up but do not remove it from the wall, you should here water drain out once it has stopped draining restart you machine and it should fill to the proper level and quit then go into your wash cycle

My washing machine will not hold water

Make sure your drain is at the proper height. Here is a photo for reference. The water draining straight thru can be caused by this. If this is not the problem, please let me know. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Simpsom Washing Machine

First see that the exit hose behind the machine is at the correct height, before coming down into the wall standpipe or your sink. Your machine pump pumps water over this height, about 2.75 feet above ground level. Possible there is a water level height marked behind your machine.

If water flows out when machine is off, possible your inlet valve at top of machine is defective...............can be replaced easily.
