See if a PCI or network controller card appears in Device manager first (control panel).

If the computer detects the WIFI card it will be installed or appear with an exclamation point.

Check that first, if the card appears with an exclamation mark, click uninstall.

Download the WIFI card driver from Compaq. Install the driver and restart the computer.

Once the computer restarts, then it should automatically detect the hardware and boom should be working.

If this does not solve the problem (assuming the exclamation point was there) then uninstall the WiFi card again and restart the pc.

This time allow the computer to restart and detect the hardware. Do not click anything on the hardware wizard. Instead run the WiFi card driver software again. Restart pc and hope it works.

If not, let me know and we can try something else.

Brian

First the wifi extender should be connected to the ISP modem or wifi using cat6 cable so that it can connect to the internet and then change your computer IP address to DHCP.

Hp a345w desktop pc dcs server not found conflict

what OS, we can NOT GUESS your operating system.
so where are you , home or star bucks.?
what is your connection, wifi, ethernet, or others?
a desktop pc can have vast ways to get internet.

1: modem dial up (i bet not this, nobody uses this now, 99.9)
2: cable modem, sat modem, fiber modem to ISP
3: USB wifi dongle, on PC and to local router.
4: PCI card wifi. , to router.
5: ethernet wired to router or modem direct. a cable wire. CAT5/6

one can even have direct wired ethernet to the cable modem
or you might have wired to wifi router (2 ways to connect there)

NO OS stated
no connections stated.

my guess is DCS, means DHCP not found, or DNS not found.
lots of causes, but I will not attempt to answer for all 6 ways.
sorry

Lenovo T410s wifi adapter not found. How can i troubleshoot?

Please ensure that the correct drivers for the wifi adapter are installed. T410's can have different wifi makes, and installing the wrong one will make the wifi inoperative. Ensure you grab the drivers from the Lenovo support site.

After using wifi, i cannot connect internet through mobile data unless I switched it off and on...what seems to be the problem? please help...

I have found that if i leave my wifi on and wander away from a source that I am logged into, my phone will return to 4G until the next time it finds another wifi source. Then the problem is that if the wifi is unlocked my phone will auto connect. If you don't log into the wifi it just sits there without 4g or wifi. I suggest turning off wifi anytime your not intentionally connecting to a known source.

Cant connect to wifi

Hello Murray,

The first thing that I would advise you to do is,

Uninstall the WiFi Adapter totally from the System first,

(For WIndows XP)
Right-Click on my computer Icon, Properties-->Hardware-->Device Manager,

select the WiFi Adapter under network adapters, and right click on it, then select uninstall

Next, Click on Action on that Same page, and select "scan for hardware changes",

This will bring up a prompt to install the new hardware found (Which is your Wifi Adapter).

(For WIndows Vista/Windows7)
Right-Click on my computer Icon, go to

Properties-->>Device Manager, select the WiFi Adapter under network adapters, and right click on it, then select uninstall

Next, Click on Action on that Same page, and select "scan for hardware changes",

This will also bring up a prompt to install the new hardware found (Which is your Wifi Adapter).

After this, Press your Wifi button on the system and ensure that it is On, then Scan for wireless networks.

It should connect like that.

Try this out and kindly let me know how it goes,

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using Fixya.

Server not found

you will need to enable your wifi, sometimes there will be a switch on the front of the laptop and sometimes its a key combo (Fn + one of the F keys ex F11) then you should be able to connect to your router/SSID and be back on the net. your getting the server not found because your not connected.
