I am trying to help my daughter out. She bought a new Eureka Boss 4D vacuum cleaner at Walmart. It is model 5893 BVZ. After a few weeks the suction went down to almost nothing. She had lost the receipt. Walmart was kind enough to swap her for their floor model. After two weeks the same thing happened. I have cleaned all the filters and checked for clogs. What I found is a vacuum leak where the dust cup filter cover meets the body of the vacuum cleaner. If I put masking tape over this junction all around the cover full suction is restored at the end of the hose. The cover is not broken or bent. It almost seems like there should be a gasket on this cover. I am trying to get help from Eureka but I can tell from their answer they don't understand what I am saying. I tried sending pictures but their server keeps telling me the message is too large and blocks it. Any ideas or suggestions? Does someone have this vacuum? Does yours have a gasket on the dust cup filter cover? Thank you.

- The said daughter decided to change the dust cup filters. She bought two filters that were Eureka filters but not for this vacuum. They look just like the originals but smaller. They don't seal properly, thus the loss of suction. If you have this problem make sure the correct filters are installed.

Okay, what happened is I was vacuuming one day and something must have been sucked into the vacuum that did not belong. I proceeded to turn it off and remove the obstruction. I found nothing out of the ordinary so I reassembled it and turned it back on. This time I smelled something burning so I turned it off again quickly and opened it back up to see what the problem was. I still saw nothing out of the ordinary. Now the brushroller will not work at all. The vacuum still has sucking power. In fact everything else works but the roller. I have taken it out and cleaned it thoroughly and I checked the belt which still seems to be in perfect condition. The motor for the brushroller seems to be the problem. I have no clue on how to go about fixing it. When I put the vacuum in Carpet mode it seems that the motor for the roller just ignores it. And for whatever reason I can't find a website that can tell me about how much another motor would cost. If I can avoid spending any extra money that would be fantastic. I am just stuck in this situation and if anyone can offer any advice at all I would greatly appreciate it.
