Clock works on batteries but not plugged in

I just bought your Color Changing Projection Atomic LCD Clock Model 6318324. When I put batteries in it, it works well, however, I want to plug it in for the constant projection benefit. When I plug it it, the screen just goes blue and no numbers at all. Please Advise Heather
