UNPLUG the dryer. This model you need to remove the two screws under the lint screen. Now use a flat blade screw drive and insert it in the gap between the top and the front panel and pry the top up. Now locate and remove the screws on the inside of the front panel in upper corners. The front should lift off. You will see the ignitor attached to the burner. You can try and replace the ignitor without removing the burner. Sometimes it is just as easy to remove the burner. Make sure the gas is shut off before removing the gas fitting on the gas valve. Be carefull and DO NOT touch the black part of the ignitor with your hand. It could ruin the ignitor with the oil on you hand.
If I can assist you further, please let me know.

Thanks
Vic

Dryer works but is only blowing cold air. just bought the dryer last year and have already had it repaired once.

my Samsung was in a flood(so solution may only apply to floods), changed heater assembly, still blowing cold air, turned out to be the little black box on the generator, took box cover off, cleaned the connectors in box and voila...instant heat

Igintor not glowing when i start the dryer, blowing cold air

Hi, You will need to replace the coils on top of the gas valve. They overheat and wil not open the gas valve late in the cycle. Here is how:
UNPLUG the dryer. This model you need to remove the two screws under the lint screen. Now use a flat blade screw drive and insert it in the gap between the top and the front panel and pry the top up. Now locate and remove the screws on the inside of the front panel in upper corners. The front should lift off. You will see the two black coils on the gas valve. When you remove the three wire coil, make sure the sleeve inside it gets put back on the post the coils slides onto.
While you are repairing the dryer, make sure the exhaust vent is cleaned out and that there are no pinches/cinks in the vent.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

Blowing cold air

Hi, UNPLUG the dryer! Remove the rear panel of the dryer and locate the fuse. It is white and ¼” wide and 3” long. It is located on the blower housing. Remove the wires and check to see if it has continuity. If it does not, you need to replace it.
If the fuse is ok, remove the small access cap in the front lower corner and start the dryer. Look and see if the igintor glows. If it glows and doesn't light the burner, change the coils on top of the gas valve. Here is how:

Will not heat, it only blow cold air, how do I change the heating element inside the unit

If the drum turns, it could be as simple as a blown fuse or breaker. The dryer has doule breaker or fuses at fuse panel. If the one blows, the heater will not work but motor willturn as motor rums on 110volts. It may be cut out thermostat or could be element, but check the power to the plug of dryer out let and make sure you getting 110 volts on from neutral to both sides and 220 between two live lines.

Whirlpool Dryer blows cold air when starting no heat

Did the fuse blow out? If so then the heating element is shorted out. This happens frequently when they fail. If the fuse is blown check the condition of or change out the heating element.

Hotpoint tdc62p changed thermostats as blowing out cold air,

Make sure that all filters are properly cleaned, and that the air inlet and outlet vents are clear. Make sure water container is empty.
The best way to clean the filter at the bottom is to run cold water through it, this will clear out all the lint.. Make sure you have the correct stats ( there are many for the hotpoint range) and that you have them in the correct position on the heater back plate.
Plz rate this solution.
thanks.
