Contact B&S through their web-site and ask them. Most B&S engines use a magneto and flywheel so there is no timing per se' as we would think of in automobile engines. Getting any engine to TDC is easy... remove the spark plug and rotate the propeller shaft by hand until the piston rises and strikes it and just begins to fall... you'll know the place where it reaches it's maximum stroke.

SOURCE: Fuel in tank going into engine and mixing with oil

The float needle and seat are leaking and not shutting off the fuel when carb bowl if full. It then flows down the intake into the cylinder, past the rings and into the crankcase. Have the needle and pressed-in brass seat replaced. Could save yourself some money if you removed the carb yourself and took it in.

SOURCE: I have a Briggs & Stratton 500 series push lawn

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
When a primer bulb is slow to return to a static conditon there is a restriction in the fuel supply. Since this carb is mounted directly on top of the fuel tank the troubleshooting for this involves removing the gas tank and carb as an assembly from the engine. Remove the end bolt and then the side bolt spacer that is just above the tank. Be careful or the spacer will drop. Pull out on the tank until it slides off of the intake. When the tank is free of the engine tile the bottom of the tank toward you and disconnect the throttle linkage. NOTE the hole the linkage is connected to! Set the tank on a flat surface and remove the carb mounting screws. STOP! Do not lift the carb off of the tank until your sure that the gasket and diaphragm are not stuck to both mounting surfaces. You may have to carefuly slide a thin knife blade FLAT across the top of the tank to free the carb from the tank. There will be a SPRING on the bottom of the cabr also. Do not lose this spring and ensure you see how it is installed! Once the carb is free of the tank clean the screen under the carb and the carb with carb cleaner. Reassemble carb to tank. Fill tank with gas and re-check primer bulb BEFORE you reinstall the tank and carb on the engine. If it still does not work.. properly you need to clean the passages again. Worst case you remove the primber bulb to see if there is debris inside the bulb plunger area. Installing tank and carb to engine....
Tip the bottom of the tank toward you.. connect the throttle linkage, watch the o-ring that is in the carb intake sealing area and make sure it seals. Install side bolt and then the end bolt.

Just back tracking here.. I have determined this is most likely a 11A-B04E000 Yard machine with a 5.0 Hp engine... ( Briggs and Stratton refers to this engine as the 10T500 series.

Model 31G777 Need to know what the timing position is for this engine please ,As stated earlier I have it at 3 o clock it wont start . ideas please

Don't waht your trying to with the 3 o'clock position but crank and cam timing marks align with each other.

Instructions from service manual:

Install Crankshaft and Camshaft

1. Lubricate the cylinder bearing/oil seal with engine oil.

2. Install intake and exhaust valve tappets.

3. Support both ends of the crankshaft, and carefully install into the cylinder.
NOTE: The counterbalance system, if equipped, must be assembled to the crankshaft before installing into the cylinder.

4. Assemble connecting rod assembly to crankshaft.

5. Install the timing gear to the crankshaft with timing mark out. The flange of the gear must face the counterweight link, if equipped.

6. Install camshaft, making sure tappets clear cam lobes. Timing marks (A, Figures 6, 7, 8) must align.

7. On horizontal crankshaft engines, make sure the paddle on the governor shaft (B, Figure 6) is rotated in line with the governor cup inside the crankcase cover.

8. On vertical crankshaft engines, assemble governor gear/oil slinger (B, Figures 7 and 8) to camshaft. Make sure the paddle on
the governor shaft is contacting the governor cup (C).

What do you set the timing on the camshaft/crankshaft of a Briggs & Stratton model 441777 type 0117B-1 2 cylinder?

There will be an arrow or line on the crank and usually a dot on the cam sprocket. line these marks up and your engine is timed.

Briggs and Stratton 6.5 hp 120000 series mover engine. How do I set the valve timing gear ?

The crankshaft should have a marked "tooth" either with a "dot" or a "-"mark, the camshaft will also have a corresponding dot or dash. By rotating the crankshaft, align the marks on the crankshaft & the camshaft so that they are directly opposite each other. Drop the camshaft into place and the engine is now "timed"--if the marks are not exactly opposite one another, lift the camshaft (just enough to disengage the gear teeth) and try again, being "one tooth" out can make a huge difference--so take your time and make sure the "marks" are directly opposite each other.

B & S 675 series engine timing question

The gear on the crankshaft is 'keyed' and has a dimple on one of the teeth. That dimple aligns with the dimple made into one of the teeth on the camshaft.

How to set tne timing on a7.5 hp ohv engine

For the Camshaft Timing:

The gear on the camshaft usually has a dot between two of the teeth and the crankshaft gear normally will have a hash-mark on one tooth. Align these marks and the camshaft timing is set.

For Ignition timing:

Set the Ignition coil at .010" clearance from the flywheel magnet and ignition timing is set

Hope this helps,
Dolf-
