How come my clothes don't smell fresh?

I wash the clothes using ariel (a good detergent gel) and when I remove the clothes, there is no smell of cleanliness. So, I tried using fabric softener which adds an extra smell - still nothing. I even tried using vinegar to remove the sour armpit smell, they remained - even after two washings. What is wrong with my machine? Is it actually cleaning the clothes?

I found myself in the same situation where my fianc? said how come the clothes don't smell good anymore. I was using the Tide Pods which have no smell. Then I found Downey Unstoppables in Fresh scent. One full capful of these Smelling beads directly into your washer and you will find people stopping to comment on your clothes smelling so good. Now even my fianc? says the clothes smells so good.

Not the machine, stop using liquid soap. put machine through a cleaning cycle using a product like affresh.

I even put the beads into a spray bottle with hot water and shake it with baking powder. This makes a wonderful spray into shoes and. Arpets but make sure it's not slippery!! Check for slippery or color bleeds of clothing or shoes

SOURCE: Fabric softener not draining during rinse cycle

What type of water hoses are hooked up to it? If you have the flood safe hoses with the check valve in them then there isn't enough water pressure to distribute the softener.

SOURCE: We have Samsung WF448AAW steam,

Hi

This type of issues usually occur when the washer is unable to drain water completely, you can run your washer at its hottest temperature setting with 2 cups of vinegar inside the unit. After this take off the bottom front panel and clean it completely, also clean the drain hose and drain pump filter, the bleach marks should disappear after doing all this. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

How do you clean a Maytag Neptune top loading washer

Tip: Prevent a Smelly Washer With Powdered Dishwasher Detergent

I have a great tip for making a smelly clothes washer smell fresh and clean, given to me by a Maytag repairman. Simply run dishwasher detergent powder, not liquid, through your machine with no clothing in it, about once or twice a month.
It works and it is cheaper than the specialized products that do the same thing. Use the same amount you would use of laundry detergent for your particular machine.

What lime scale / detergent remover can be used for regular cleaning of my front loader.

Front-loading washing machines are energy efficient and use less detergent than top-loaders, but they sometimes have a tendency to harbor mold and unpleasant smells. By giving your washing machine a quick clean once a month, you'll keep your front-loader fresh, which means cleaner clothes, too. This eco-friendly method doesn't use bleach, costs only pennies to make, and comes together with ingredients you already have on hand.
What You'll Need:
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Scrub sponge
Directions:
  1. Start by mixing together the baking soda and water in a small bowl. This is going to be the "detergent" for cleaning the washing machine. Pour the vinegar into a measuring cup and head over to your washing machine.
  2. Add the baking soda mixture to the detergent container of your machine and pour the vinegar into the drum. Set your washer to normal load at the hottest water setting. Close the door and start the machine, letting it do all the hard work for you. The baking soda and vinegar naturally break up mineral deposits and any mold growth while cleaning and refreshing your washing machine.
  3. Use a clean scrubber to rub around the opening of the washing machine, removing stubborn mold or residue. Wipe clean with fresh water.
  4. Your washing machine is sparkling clean and ready to do a load of laundry! Give your front-loader a cleaning once a month to keep your clothes smelling fresh and your machine working in tip-top condition.

Good afternoon,
When washing different types of clothes its important to use the correct type of detergents.
For colours its recommended to use a non-bleach biased detergents or a specific colour product. Ariel do a Ariel with Actilift Colour Powder. This is a Colour Powder which helps keep your coloured and dark clothes looking vibrant and sharp.

Rotten smell.used cleaning products. still smells

I had the same problem. I was using Cascade packs (don't remember which kind) and it was moderate. Switched to Finish gel packs and it got really bad.
My husband has a very sensitive nose and he mentionned that there was detergent smell mixed with the rotten smell. He suggested switching back to the good old powder (Cascade).
After 1 wash it was much better and after 2 washes, the smell went away completely.
Hope this helps!

You can use Affresh to clean your front loader. Deposits of soap and other such things can be stuck around the inside tub of your washer. Try this product, it works great on all front loaders. Use very hot water with the Affresh pellet with no clothes and run the machine through a cycle. Also helps with any stagnant water smells. Put the Affresh pellet inside the machine, not in the soap dispenser.

You can give me a ‘very helpful’ rating for the free help, can't you. Thanks.
