Re: monitor light/voicemail/#restricted!

Hi Robalink,

The Iphone want go dark possibly because of the cover you have on the iphone. Right above the earphone( what you here people from) above the lcd screen is a sensor. If this sesnor is covered it will not go dark for you.

Verizon store where I bought my new iPhone 5c could not port contacts from old Tracfone or from my iPad to new iPhone. iPhone doesn't ring either, going directly to voicemail.

they wont be able to move the contacts from the tracphone unless it was an iphone tracphone because other phones have a different OS. your going to have to delete the current email on the phone then put the one you're trying to use on it. Now the ringing part i would check with them to make sure your provider isnt having your calls forwarded straight to your voicemail. hope this helpped

Goes to voice main on first try on second try rings

According to iPhone " How can set the number of rings on my iPhone before voicemail picks up?
You can set the iPhone to wait longer or shorter than the default 20 seconds before it goes to voicemail when receiving an incoming call. This will result in a different number of rings before the voice messaging system picks up the line and plays your outgoing message. To change the amount of time the iPhone will ring follow these steps:
1. Open the phone app and dial *#61# on the Keypad. Press the Call button.
2. Locate this text on the screen: "Setting Interrogation Succeeded, Voice Call Forwarding, When Unanswered, Forwards to +" and record the 11-digit number after the + symbol.
3. Touch the Dismiss button. Now enter this code on the Keypad: *61*+ followed by the 11-digit Forwards to number recorded in step 2, followed by *11 and *ringtime#. Ringtime is the number of seconds you want your iPhone to ring before voicemail picks up. Your finished code should look something like this:
In the example above the ring time is set to 30 seconds. Press the Call button.
4. You should receive the message: Setting Activation Succeeded. Press Dismiss and next time you receive a call it will ring for the new amount of time before going to voicemail."
According to Apple Tool "having this problem, please try the followings:
  • Make sure that iPhone's Ring/Silent switch is OFF meaning ringer is ON. A bell will flash briefly on the screen when you turn on the ringer.
  • Make sure that the Do Not Disturb setting is not silencing calls (Settings > Do Not Disturb).
  • Make sure that Airplane Mode is OFF (Settings > Airplane Mode).
  • Make sure that your carrier software is up to date (Settings > General > About)."

How do i set up voice mail and how do i get it

This will work unless you are coming from or going to an iphone. Dial 1 to access your voicemail, or dial your phone number from your phone. Both options should work. If neither does you will need your carrier to reset your voicemail.

My iphone won't search without the screen getting dark and un readable then freezes

iPhone into DFU mode so you can do an iTunes firmware restore follow these steps:
Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac.
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.
After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.
The iPhone screen will remain black
: It may take a few attempts to get your iPhone into DFU mode. Generally, I hold down both buttons then release the Home button just before I think the Apple logo would appear. If you are still holding both buttons down and you see the Apple logo you are holding them down for too long!

My iphone 3gs got stucked and i cannot operate any of the functions, not even sleep/wake mode also

  1. Turn off iPhone - Hold down the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the red slider. Ignore this step if your iPhone is already off.
  2. Press and hold down the Home button for about 10 seconds until a yellow triangle with a text which says Please Connect to iTunes appears. iphone-recovery-mode.jpg
  3. Plug the iPhone into Mac or Windows PC. Release the button if you haven't.
  4. Run and open iTunes if it's not already opened yet.
  5. iTunes will prompt a message that says iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Click OK.
  6. You will be taken to the iPhone pane. Then, click on Restore.
  7. Wait for the full restoration process to complete, and the iPhone will be back to the original settings state as when it left the manufacturing factory, typically a working phone again if you face any problem, unless it's hardware related.

Problem with the sleep mode of 3 g iphone

turn the iPhone off and see if that helps. If it is still under warranty, go to the apple or best buy store, depending on where you got it, and get a new one (assuming turning it off didnt work), but, if you don't want to go through that, then just turn off the phone for sleep and that will be your sleep, but, i wouldn't suggest that

FA 501apple Iphone....

Being that this question is so old. I'm gonna answer it for those that may face this problem today.

For starters. The dimming of the screen.
The dimming happens under the control of the auto lock of the screen. When it dims that means it's gonna "sleep". However the phone is still 100% functional in Sleep mode.

To change this setting you want to go to Settings, then General, tap Auto Lock, and change it as you wish.

Now to making your caller id show up again.
Go to Settings, then Phone, then tap Show My Caller ID and make sure it's On.

Those are the methods to fixing that problem. If those have been done and the problem still persists, then there's something more wrong with the phone

Iphone, vociemail, restricted #, and monitor lighting help

for your brightness problem, go to your home screen and touch settings, then brightness, and make sure your auto-brightness is on, that will allow the Iphone to adjust the brightness up and down as the day goes on and you need more or less light.

as for the restricted problem, what you need to do is call AT&T. More than likely there is a problem with your account. Things like this most technicians at AT&T can say..."Let me look, oh yeah...don't know why that was clicked, there your fixed"

Hope this helps :)
